Let's worry about em next week....good point about their luck with injuries though. We'll see how they do against UCSe. The ole ballsack is still the coach there last time I checked.

Dylan Thompson is a much better passer than Conner Shaw. USCe will be fine.

Mizzou will never be as lucky as Auburn.

Then again it isn't luck that gets them 8 home games a year

2007 Kentucky: Dan Williams blocks an easy field goal attempt in O/T from Kentucky. Had that field goal been successful,

If the kicker had whiffed the short FG attempt I would agree that UT caught a break. Williams blocking the kick was not luck.

we paved the way for missouri. drisekl hurt, then all the georgia players, now shaw. All the players got hurt in the battle with us then the team had to go and play missouri the next three games.

Mizzou smells like 2012 Miss State. They started 7-0 and flopped to an 8-5 record, going 1-4 and losing their bowl game. Mizzou caught UGA going into a tailspin and Florida with a terrible offense and banged up defense. I think they're good. Top 25, but not a top 10 team in the country. USCe will expose them. I think Ole Miss and A&M both get them. Maybe even we take them, although I'll say they go 9-3. A great year, but they're benefitting from a down SEC East.

They really have benefited from the Vols knocking people around. Vols should at least get a thank you card or something.

I told a guy i work with (vandy fan) that Butch is still awaiting his thank you card and chocolates from Mizzou and CandyVandy for those gift wrapped victories

Mizzou has a great D and will keep them in games. We will have a tough time going down there and winning. Can we? Absolutely but this team is good, luck or not.

Mizzou has more first round draft pics than every team in the country with the exception of Alabama and FL.

They have one of the best d lines in the SEC and country. Explosive offense too.

Edit: more first round draft pics the past few years. Sorry for the confusion.

A lot of people don't realize that Gary P, the coach of Missouri, is actually pretty good. They have had some legit top ten teams in his tenure.

Having said that, they still have not been completely tested IMO. Florida is only half a team...no offense.

Backup QB or no, I think USCe gives them a much better game this weekend. But we will see.

The fact they are undefeated is crazy. Just look at how their schedule has played out. They finally hit the hard part of there schedule and look at it. They get UGA with all there wide outs injured and top 2 RB's, then they play the Gators without there best offensive and defensive players in the game. This week they get USC without there QB. Shows 2 things. TN really is whipping up in people and 2 Mizzu is taking advantage of it. :lolabove:

They also sucked horribly last year and they've lost their starting QB; so let's not act like they haven't earned some of it. They're clearly an improved team.

"Lucky bounces" happen to every team over the course of time. Unlucky bounces also happen. You picked 8 instances out of 15 years. The OP mentioned several "lucky" things for Missouri in one season.

What's your point?

We had more than one "lucky" thing happen in 1998.

Living in St. Louis, I get all of the Mizzou news I can stand. They do well here. My son wants to go to school there.

Yes, Pinkel does a pretty good job. Missouri is a lot like Tennessee in that they have to recruit regionally and even nationally to compete. The player base is not here.

Like CBJ is trying to do, Gary Pinkel came in and worked hard to sure up relationships in the state and win more of the better in-state talent. There are more in-state kids on the team than there used to be. He's getting a lot of St. Louis players now. When I moved up here in the 90s, Mizzou either didn't or couldn't recruit St. Louis.

He also recruits Texas fairly well. It may have been easier when they were in the Big 12. It'll be interesting to see if that holds.

Personally, I hope they stay undefeated until we go to Columbia. It would make a victory all that much sweeter.
