Missouri @ Tennessee Game 3 Thread - 2 PM

16, I've said it all year that this year's UT team did not have a single pitcher who would have been a weekend starter for any other SEC team. That's nothing new because it's been that way for Serrano's entire tenure. However, this year, there wasn't a single position player that would have started for any other SEC team either.

Give me Jordan Rodgers, Hunter Martin, Jon Lipinski, consistent Jeff Moberg, the Freshman Andre Lipcius and Will Neely just because I see a bright future for him.

BK, I usually like reading your post, but I sure hope the players never read this stuff. Holy crap. Please tell me you are not one of those people that blame the soldiers for Vietnam.

So I see where receiving All SEC honors is actually good enough for you. Awesome.

I'm still curious about your evaluation. Did you play for UT or some other SEC team? Did you coach, recruit or manage a high level program?

So the team didn't have a single pitcher that would start in the SEC...not at Alabama, Missouri, Georgia,...? Really?

I think you are wrong just like you were wrong about Jordan and Andre.

In fact, I will make this wager with you:

If you can name (4) 2016 freshman pitchers, their working velocity, top velocity, and best pitch... I will tip my hat to you, eat a bug (not a big one), and never return to this blog.

I bet you won't, because you can't, because you don't know that much about guys you are judging so critically. and unfairly.

Glad you enjoy my posts. I do understand the game and the program better than most.

The comments you are referring to were exaggerated to prove a point. The talent level at UT is not on level with the rest of the SEC as evidenced by the season. There are a lot of good young players but it's hard to expect to compete when you are playing 4 freshmen players in the field and having a Freshman as your Friday night guy (he did well in the role and this will pay dividends in the future.

I try not to mention players by name but I see how you could be offended by the comments made. Not my intent. Rogers and Moeberg had great years and they developed a lot over the last two season (thanks to Simcox) and both will play pro ball. A lot of the freshmen and Soph will be much better in the future for the experience gained this year.

It was not a good season but better times are coming. The Lipcius brothers are competitors and will only get better and I look forward to watching Stallings, Linginfelter and Schultz develop over the next 2 years. They can be special pitchers. Only named 3 young pitchers so you don't have to eat any bugs......if you do, cover them with chocolate, some folks consider that a delicacy.

Keep posting, this is the best board on VN.

:hi:

That's the BK post I recognize and appreciate. Sorry to be so testy. Still mad our Basevols aren't in Hoover, but agree it will get better. Thanks for not listing 4 with their pitching info. Hate bugs and enjoy VN Baseball. :salute:
