Mitch Mustain...

If we could pull Mustain, a couple OL and one DL, how much do you think it would help throughout the season?

It could help a lot depending on who they could potentially get. Tennessee has 8 win talent at certain positions but 5 win talent and depth at others. I'm sure they would be highly interested in any quality offensive or defensive lineman seeking to transfer. It could dramatically increase their chances of getting 2-3 more wins this season.

Hmmmm lets see! USC cant go to a bowl game. And UT wont win enough games this year to go to a bowl game. So with one year left for mitch, why would he chose to come to UT again?

Yeah, dangit. If only we had a good QB we might be good enough to make a bowl! darn

What is wrong with his mama?

I think I remember his mama went to the A.D. because she didn't like some things Houston Nutt did.

It's D-1 football, not youth club mama!

I'm guessing she was in a principal's office a time or three when little Mitchie would get put in timeout. Just a guess.

I'll take Bray.

I don't understand why Mustain would not have to sit out. If he transferred from another D-1 school, why would he not have to sit out?

Good point, and I would agree on the additional wins assuming Dooley is the right coach for the job.

Mitch Mustain is not coming here. These kids are still going to be on TV. Scouts are till going to see their games. Mustain will get drafted next year and make millions, why come and learn a brand new system and expose possible weaknesses?

Everyone needs to calm down and just enjoy the moment. Lane, Monte and the crazy cajun have 2 years of scrimmage games.

Mustain will get drafted without playing in college for the last few years?

how are scout going to see Mustain when he is on the bench? plus a senior quarterback has a ton better chance of getting drafted by playing than sitting.

If the draft was today no way he is drafted. Maybe a free agent.

Mustain is legit...did you see the kid go 8-0 as a true freshman in the SEC. Look Barkley is a stud and if he was in the SEC right now would be the best QB by far. Don't give me the kid at Arkansas he has a great arm and thats it. (See Jamarcus Russell) Mitch Mustain will be in the NFL, if Jon Crompton can drafted, Mitch Mustain will

Mustain wont get drafted if he sits the bench at USC and never plays.

How many times did you hear Matt Cassell's name get called in college? This kid can play.....No need to argue, its just people with different opinions. Lets throw a parade in honor of Lane Kiffin and his new head coaching gig at Probation U:rock:

Uh, he's proven he can handle the SEC. I'd take my chances with him over Simms

It sounds kind of risky for a player to stick it out at a school in hopes of taking the "Matt Cassell route" to the NFL.

I would think Mustain would jump at the chance to go to another school where he will be a starter for his senior season.

Well lets see right now Southern Cal has 3 starting QB's in the NFL and Tennessee has 1 (he's the best but....)Mustain practices against a better defense everyday that almost any other college QB will play against in a regular game.

I'm not saying this kid will be an all pro or even a starter but he WILL get drafted. He could start for any team in the SEC not named Arkansas, Bama or maybe Florida.....

I just don't see him leaving a school where he knows the system and is comfortable with his receivers (for his pro day), to come to a school that is in a better conference than the PAC 10, he doesn't know 1 receiver and doesn't know the system and it has a very mediocre offensive line, it would be stupid....I will even bet he gets invited to the combine

I would definitely take Mustain, but I'm not sure he has proven he can handle the SEC. I understand he was a true freshman, but his numbers weren't great. He hasn't played hardly any since then either. Here are his stats from Arkansas. I do believe he could win the starting job at UT however.

Passing Att: 132
Completions: 69
Percentage: 52.3
Yards: 894
TD: 10
INT: 9
Rating: 120.52

Yea Matt Cassel proved that wrong.

one guy (who was backing up Heisman winners and not a true frosh) has done it and he happened to have the backing of Norm Chow. Acting like it's a yearly occurrence is wrong.
