Laughable response. It is amazing how the supposed leaders of the black community look down their collective noses at the poor in this country. If there wasn't such a plague of poverty and unemployment in the black community, these freaking people would have to get real jobs then wouldn't that suck for them. Instead of promoting education and families, they are promoting a socialist/welfare state agenda. The NAACP is pathetic.

Mitt Romney 'deliberately got booed by the NAACP to appeal to white racists' | Mail Online

The Romney campaign has been accused of deliberately getting the Republican presidential candidate booed by black people during his NAACP speech to attract votes 'in certain racist precincts', by MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell.

Romney was booed for 15 seconds at the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People conference in Houston on Wednesday when he stated he would 'eliminate' unnecessary programmes like the Obamacare health reform.

Democrats united in saying that Romney planned to get booed to appeal to his conservative base. But O'Donnell and his guests went a step further by saying that Romney was making a play for white racists.

now I'm beginning to wonder if Lawrence O'Donnell and LG aren't the same person

He went there to antagonize them and to beef up his right wing creds with the base.

Mission accomplished!

He should get a banner....

if he doesn't go, he's racist

if he does go, he's racist

with logic like that, it's amazing you can function in civil society

He went to appeal to a group that influences one of the larger voting blocks in the country. He got applause for saying he wanted to represent all Americans. He also got applause nearly every time he mentioned programs to help job creation. He did get booed when he said he wanted to repeal ACA, but he handled it well and supported his position strongly. First time I was impressed with Willard.

He got invited

LOL, you idiot, they ALL get invited. He went and plan was to say repeal ACA, which was intended to get boos from Obama supporters.

How else can he distance himself from his own plan?

So obvious what he was doing.

What? He's going to get applause for that line ?

Please. He used them. He excited the far right base (as evidenced by the thread) and he lost no votes.

Sharkeez is aight, I was thinking more of a homer pick

Los Muchachos on Pier Ave. My cousin lives near PCH and Anita, he's friends with some of the dudes from Pennywise, one of whom is the owner of that place. It's really great though.

It's funny how you use the words use them in Romney's relationship with African Americans. What exactly has Barry done to the African Americans and Latinos. Oh yeah, use them....

He could have done a better job. Calling it "Obamacare" was stupid.

He should have stated up front that there is probably disagreement between his views on the healthcare bill and the NAACP, and appreciates the opportunities to highlight the differences and make his case. Calling the bill by its official name, rationally stating why he thinks it would be bad, and stating how his ideas would be better would have been the better course of action. Nobody saying he has to pander, but there was a better way to handle it.

He wasn't going to win many votes, everybody knows that. But he could have refrained from the right wing euphanisms and stated his case better. IMO, that would have been more presidential.

"Obamacare" is much more accurate than the "Affordable Care Act". Also, I thought Obama was proud of the legislation. Shouldn't he and his backers want his name associated with it.
