MLB Game Thread

Today's win is the 1st time the Yankees have won a game in which they had 1 hit since July 10, 1914.

Austin and Judge are the first pair of teammates to accomplish the feat in baseball history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau

Sanchez, 23, has made history as the first major leaguer ever with 11 home runs in the first 23 games of his career. No American League rookie since Mark McGwire in 1987 hitting as many as 11 home runs in a month.

Nolan Arenado's cycle: 17th in Coors Field history. Ties Fenway Park for most cycles in active ballpark. Coors opened: 1995, Fenway in 1912.

The @Astros join the @Dodgers with at least 67 wins in 1st 100 games; from @EliasSports, 1st time since 1954 that 2 teams started that fast.

Tim Raines: successful on 84.7% of his SB attempts. Rickey Henderson would need to return & steal 448 bases without being caught to pass him

Congrats to Tim Raines, he deserves the HoF. Remember watching those great Expos teams with Andre Dawson and Gary Carter. They had some great pitching too, Dennis Martinez, is the only one I can think of right now, but he wasn't the only one. I blame the 80s, my teenage years

The @Dodgers are the first team to win 43 games in a 50-game span since the 1912 New York Giants.

Really? I remember in 1984 that the Detroit Tigers started the season 35-5 on their way to winning the World Series.

On this date in 1890, one Denton True "Cy" Young got his first career major league win. He'd go on to win 510 more ... the most all-time.

Cody Bellinger (@Dodgers) has hit 16 HR in the 7th inning or later this season, tying Frank Robinson's modern-era rookie record (since 1900)

That's only 40 games.....

Yes, I know and they would have to go 8-2 in the next 10 and obviously didn't. I edited out what else I said, which was, " all they would have had to win was 8 out of the next 15 and I'm surprised they didn't". Then I realized my math was based on their win total instead of their total games. So like I said I edited it out so I wouldn't look like a dumba$$, but didn't add anything else and still looked like a dumba$$.
