Wonder if the phillies recent run changes their plans at the deadline. Have been playing ok baseball lately and slowly getting back into the race

Kozma is solid defensively. He's .20ish below the league avg batting and needs to improve that.

His avg is being held up by what he did in April and May.
.259 in April
.267 in May
.209 in june
.000 in July

.234 for the year.

.174 in the 30 days.

.000 in the past 7 days.

Funny thing is he can hit in away games. .269 for the year. Only .195 at home.

I could play on mlb.com all day with their stats.

Maybe he can turn it around. I think St Louis saw him as a temporary SS fill in at first, then were more open when he came out hitting ok. If they don't make a move by the trade dead line, I'm guessing they'll re-evaluate at the end of the season.

His defense is solid. The club can be more selective when the rest of the team is hitting well. Hopefully his avg will come around.

Yea, I think his scouting potential when he was in the minors was along those lines. Solid defense, little power at the plate, average hitter at best.

Although I know last year he was picked as having the best arm defensively in Memphis. Can't remember if that extended to all the Cards minor league teams as well.

I think Kozma is better than the last two SS prospects the Cards have had. Just don't have much faith in a guy who was in the minors for 6 years and could never put together a consistent season.

I'm hoping the Cubs just extend Garza. Probably wont happen, but I wouldn't do anything to mess with that rotation. Starting pitching has been great this year for the Cubs.

Extend Garza, then address the bullpen and offense in the offseason via free agency.

But hey, I guess Theo knows more than I do.

Some San Francisco writers believe they may try to use Crawford as a trade chip to bring in Stanton.

haha, right now he should be sent to louisville, frazier too.

Send him to Louisville and replace him with who exactly? You want Cesar Izturis to be your everyday short stop? Or Emmanuel Burriss with his prolific .250 BA in AAA this year? Or did Negron somehow show you enough last year when he was called up?

move brandon to short and give henry.R his shot. can't have the number 2 hitter batting .230. they could also trade for a ss or 3rd baseman.

also put frazier on the bench and call up soto. frazier is looking like a average player at best.

Buster Olney reporting Orioles are out of the Matt Garza talks now due to too much cost in prospects and money.

Pirates starting to make a move for Cliff Lee

Y'all got that kind of coin? Owed $75mil over next 3 years after 2013...

Your payroll to start 2013 was $67mil.

Color me skeptical of Pitt acquiring Lee unless Philly will eat a ton of that salary.

Skeptical as well, one of the pittsburgh tribune writers though was adamant on the radio that we are tentatively offering more prospect wise than other teams including Luis Heredia who the phillies have reportedly been very high on leading them to be willing to eat some salary and the big increase in tv revenue next year would help take care of the rest.

Wasn't that more of a speculative article about what they "should" do. They are reported to be looking into Alex Rios and Alexei Ramirez.

Not sure have not seen an article on it, just going off what Cook had to say on the radio this morning

I can see that...
