'24 MO EDGE Kellen Lindstrom (Tennessee)

I love watching video of players looking for little things to go along with Athletic abilities. Hands are great and plays extremely hard to whistle. With his length he has Top 100 written all over him. Watch him shoot up rankings this year as he improves. Great Job Staff kid is a baller. In CHRIST Alone

Knowing basic match and roster management is something only I could come up with? It was a simple and reasonable question. Taking this guy likely means one of two or possibly both things or a third. Either Gentle is getting a git shirt, the staff has received word from Fountain that he’s going to Diet USC, or the staff is very bad at roster management. Taking 6-7 defensive linemen that are all HS kids is horrible roster management and is something I’ve yet to see happen with a program worth a damn. I could completely understand taking 5 and 1-2 from the transfer portal, but 7 out of HS is preposterous
Siap but Lol. Might want to do some basic research there before running your mouth. Bama took 7 DL/edge guys in 2023. Oregon took freaking 10. And I only checked the teams that recruited better than hs.

It's not terrible roster management if you have a bunch of guys leaving, want to rotate guys, and know you are taking some guys who are going to need a while to get up to speed. The guys we are taking are a mix of should be 3 year guys, 4 year guys, and 5 year guys. We will be fine taking 7.

And all that's assuming we get ALL of them. And assuming that none transfer out.

There are 25 guys in a typical class. 22 starting positions. Thats 3 spares we can take. We have at least 4 but more likely 5 DL/edge positions. So 5 of 7 have "guarenteed" spots. The other two can take some of the spare slots. You can never have enough good DL so taking 2 of the 3 spares as DL doesnt sound like terrible roster management.

And why not just freaking wait to post something like this? He is a four star guy we clearly wanted, there is no reason to freak out the day of.

Just a guess but he may end up putting on 40-50 lbs and being a DE. His highlights show him pursuing and playing down the line well.

He also tattoos guys. Seems like one of those guys who just get that extra burst right as he makes contact.

Agreed…seems more like a SDE than a WDE to me

This guy, Wearhersby and Hobbs are going to be a great rotation at the SDE/3-tech hybrid position our coaches seem to want…stuff the run when needed, rush the passer from the inside or outside when needed…it’s a great type of player to have on the field

To be quite honest, idk why this is even a thing right now. We do not have 7 dl committed and are still 8 months from early signing day. That troll is an idiot. Also, boom!!!
only a troll would complain about recruiting to many for line positions. You need to be at least 3 deep for the offensive and defensive lines.

WHAT TENNESSEE IS GETTING...
Size, athleticism, versatility and a motor that runs hot are just a few of the traits Lindstrom brings to the table, and as good as he is at this raw stage of his career, his upside is what made him one of the most coveted defensive end prospects in the 2024 class.
At 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, Lindstrom has the twitch, length and speed to become a lethal pass rusher at Tennessee and he is the type of player capable of giving SEC quarterbacks fits in the coming years. Additionally, his plus frame is capable of adding plenty of mass once established in a college weight program, and that combined with a special skill-set could give him the versatility to play multiple positions for the Vols. While Lindstrom has incredible physical and athletic gifts, it is his ability to maximize those gifts that will give him every opportunity to become an impact player in the SEC and beyond.

Alabama signed 7 DL out of HS last year and Georgia did the same the previous year.

I know. I have been following recruiting for decades, especially our success and failures in the North and South Carolina area. We compete at the highest level in football when we can consistently take the South Carolina cream. We haven’t been able to consistently do that since Spurrier was there. That’s my concern. Beamer may become an issue for us, like it or not. Goofy and strange as he is, he’s currently a top notch recruiter.

Need to beat the hell out of them at Neyland this year. That should be a great atmosphere.

Just studied his film. High motor kid with sneaky athleticism. Gym rat. Student of the game. First one there, last one to leave. Very intelligent player. I see flashes of JJ Watt/Julien Edelman in his game.
But does he strike you as a lunch pail guy? Coach’s son?

I agree 100%. Not to mention if we did sign 7 the odds of them all still being here by the 4th or 5th year is extremely low. Troll also said take 5 and 2 from portal. If we did sign 7 and they all miraculously leave in a 1-2 year span, the portal will still be there

You thinking you can manage a cfb roster better than actual college football coaches is what is preposterous.

Go log back on to your dynasty on NCAA ‘14 and leave the roster management to the professionals.

Alabama literally took 7 dlinemen last class… they are known to be pretty damn good at roster management. So is it only a problem when Heupel does it, or are you just clueless?

It’s a consistent pattern if you pay attention…he/she posts just enough positive UT messages to claim that they are a fan…but the most common opinion they share is one that’s anti-UT…they’re just “being a realist” or “keeping it real”…in reality they are most likely an opposing fan

Not sure what this kid's 40 is. but he seems to be the fastest dude on either side of the field in high lights.

He just flashed different.
- great use of hands already
- light on his feet.
- Runs like an athletic TE and not a lumbering DL
- plays REALLY hard

They play different positions (sort of) but I like this kid more than Ross from Alabama.
Ross needs way more intensity.
I think Ross is more athletic and potentially higher upside. However, I just didn’t see that “dog” in him. Hard to make that judgement on some highlight film though.

Amongst Australian criminals Dog is slang for Snitch. Don't see that either...........
