'24 MO EDGE Kellen Lindstrom (Tennessee)

^. Best way I could say it I guess is what you think of like a 3-4 edge rusher. That was Byron Young last year. Will be Joshua Josephs/James Pearce Jr/Roman Harrison this year, etc. LEOs for us are the stand-up edge rushers if that makes sense. SDE are the bigger ends that will have their hand in the dirt like Tyler Baron. @bigl3327 explained it pretty well
That does make sense. TY. Byron Young and Tyler.

West, Bumphus sometimes last year.

But also we did run sets with Harrison and Young, or Young, and Josephs on the field at the same time.
2 LEO's on the same play.

Not sure how this guy’s film could be any better? Looks better than many of the 5* guys I’ve watched. Not sure what more we could be looking for in a HS recruit. For the guy complaining about taking him as we’re in on better guys, I’d take 15 athletes like him and spread them across both sides of the ball. This guy has a chance to be great!

I think all the raw material is there. He appears to have good instincts and play with his eyes up.

That said, we have to remember that the video highlights we get on Hudl or youtube aren't really "film". Before UT's recruit evaluators and coaches give a thumbs up on a kid, they watch every second of film there is and usually any available of them playing other sports. The highlights don't show the times he got blocked, missed a tackle, didn't hold leverage, etc.

Hudl highlights, like recruiting site evaluations, are for entertainment purposes only.

Thanks for sharing - I thought those were some really short games.

I know what I was watching and it shows a HS junior with a big frame who is explosively quick off the whistle and has impressive top end speed for his size. He’s also very stout while still being quite lean.

Agree. Moves well and has unusual "pop" when he arrives. Many times a big guy just runs over a ball carrier. He hits more like a LB.

I think others are right. He looks like a SDE once he puts some weight on. Many times kids built like he is actually gain speed and quickness when they put on muscle. Interesting that Robert Ayers is now on UT's staff. He is who I think of when watching how this kid plays. Obviously he has a lot of growing to do to be that good- just the way he looks "on the hoof".

How is this kid not a high 4*/5* with that offer list? A take either way but just curious...
Just a guess. He's pretty raw. Having Winstrom for his coach now will help there.

He also does not have the opportunity to play against elite opponents in the Springfield, MO area. For the most part, Missouri's best HSFB is played along I 70- KC area, Columbia, and STL.

Belated BOOM!

He was spot on with his commentary on technique and hands.
I disagree. It’s impossible to see his technique against OTs because the tape rarely showed a one on one blocking assignment that was heads up. Lots of block downs and cut blocks on him. His speed is blue chip and intangibles gold. Technique could arguably be silver but the data set is too small. He did do an excellent job of using hands to avoid the cut.

On the current commitment front, this was a huge night for guys like Kellen Lindstrom and Bennett Warren. It was their first game day experience and it really lined up. On the first third down of the game, I got a look at Lindstrom’s reaction and he was blown away at the noise. He reiterated as much post-game.
