Until we see an edge guy getting to the qb consistently and chasing down plays in the backfield and finishing it I want all the athletes we can take. We’ve had countless qbs barely, I mean barely, get the ball out and if we had guys with a half a step better we are dominating on the front. You can never have enough, rotation is how you suffocate offenses in the 4th qtr
Just pay the damn kid. One recruit left worth millions. It ain’t rocket science. Some people need to get their heads out of their asses lol
Easy solution, just get off YOUR wallet and fund this player's offer. SPYRE is pretty easy to find. But you also need to be prepared to fund other deals for players at the same position that believe their skills and production to date are equal to his. Looking forward to you posting the receipt notification of this transaction. The TAM experience this year should show us that JUST opening up the wallet can be problematic.
If our staff has not been working this or other players hard down the stretch, there must be some issues with the risk/reward calculation. Not an issue with their talent or ceiling calculation, but there are other issues in play. Some of these guys are not bad, but could be bad cultural fits with different priorities in their selection of program process.
I like how we have reportedly spent our money to date. Giving green to guys who have demonstrated they want to be ORANGE pleases me. Uping the ante to flip a guy does not. If we have made our best offer and they have committed elsewhere or continue the bidding war dance, I would fear discontent EVEN if the current combination of program success AND money gave them pause and a reason to reconsider. If our leaders can justify a shot for more money after another risk/reward calculation then so be it, but can surely live with it if they don't and certainly do not think it is a failure on their part as you have postured it.
I think Spyre is aiming toward the regular Joe.lol if I had more money than what I knew what to do with it, I would. Rich dickheads (most of who did nothing to be rich to begin with) that think it’s important to own 7 boats are the problem with this country. SPYRE is great, but it should not be the only way these players get NIL. There’s plenty of millionaires that it would further benefit if UT football got and stayed elite. But they’d rather have that 7th boat. Anyone with eyes can see this guy is a potential different maker under the right coaching. Outbid. You basically have one recruit who’s gonna rake in the millions on NIL in Nico. This guy has the potential to be with millions too. Sure not everyone is and realistically you can’t pay a whole class that every year. But if we’re ever going to be elite again, rich people around this program are gonna have to pull their weight. The common fan can only do so much.
Texas A&M is struggling because they have awful coaching. Period. I believe in our staff. Believe we have a staff who gets the most out of 90% of the kids and with elite talent we would be a dynasty. The millions spent now would be change compared to what the program would bring in around the community.
That’s not what he is saying, to clarify. There has been speculation that Echols would be playing edge in college where some services have him ranked as a 5 star. So if we get Sam then Echols would stick at the TE position is what is is speculating.Echols more than likely comes whether this kid signs with us or not
okay sorry I thought he meant we had to get one to get the other my badThat’s not what he is saying, to clarify.
