'24 MO WR Ryan Wingo (Texas commit)

He’s making “one handed gloves?” Wouldn’t that just be a glove?

Seems like it would be difficult to sew a glove with gloves on but more power to him. He's probably making a Vols glove and wearing Mizzou gloves while making it so he doesn't get any sweat on it. Wants it to look nice and clean when he commits to us.

Hyatt is elite.

And we don’t win that Alabama game without Hyatt.

Can this offense be effective without an elite receiver? Yes. But will this team beat the elite teams without elite receivers? Probably not.

Just think of how good Georgia has been the past two years. Yet they’re arguably only back to back national champions because both Alabama and Ohio State lost elite receivers either before or during their games.

Just food for thought
100% agree. I really don't understand people saying we don't "need" elite WR's... WR should be the #1 position we want elite players (except QB) because they can take this offense to the next level.

Get your “quotes” right. Soda never stated that we don’t need elite WR’s. Her point was why is THIS SPECIFIC ONE a “must have”. / message board outrage.

You certainly need elite *performance* from WRs, regardless of whether they are/were elite on paper. It wasn't that long ago that Hyatt was getting benched for being less than elite. How did he suddenly become elite?

My point isn't to say he isn't, it's to say that he came to us as a marginal 4*, who largely underperformed that rating, until a combination of effort, coaching, and system elevated him to a much higher level than perhaps his measurables would suggest he is capable of. If lower ranked players can be coached to elite performance, than strictly speaking, we don't need to recruit elite players to have elite performance, but I'm sure it will make the coaching job easier if we do.

Post ONE. I won’t ask for the other 999,999.
A million? You're a really fast reader then.
Cool let me dig through thousands of forum pages to make sure my count is up to date. Didn't realize you guys would get so butthurt about a forum post haha

Edit: If you want to scroll through the Carnell Tate thread and read all of the cope, be my guest.

Not entirely sure how my poking fun at your hyperbole constitutes butthurt, but ok.

If the seven figure number of posts stemmed from the Carnell Tate thread, it may have been in response to at least an equal million who opined that if we didn’t land that recruit, our opportunity for elite WR play would be nevermore!! 😫 I’ll sum up my take with you NEED elite WR play but the means to achieve said performance doesn’t reside in one alley.

TWSS. Soda, that is 😂

To me the ideal WR class would be Wingo, Mike Matthews, and Ryan Pellum as the slot. That's the dream class in my opinion.
Do you think those three would be willing to wait their turn for a starting spot? We would have every WR on scholarship in the portal next year :cool::cool::cool:
