'24 MO WR Ryan Wingo (Texas commit)

We really just need to take one WR each class. Since we play 3 at a time and we don’t rotate. That leaves you with 3 starters (1 senior, 1 junior, and 1 sophomore) and 1 reserve (freshman) in case someone gets hurt. Save those other scholarships for OL and defense.
I mean this just makes sense. Blue font

Where does the idea that they pay the most come from

If I grew up a fan of a particular power 5 team, I would go there, particularly if I was a 4/5* recruit, not just go to a team that is the current #1 team. If the goal is going to the pro's, there are lots of players in the pros that came from smaller colleges or Power 5 schools that didn't win the NCAA championship. If you are good, the pros will catch on!!!!! But that is just me.......;)

A recent report showed that they spend the most on recruiting so I would assume that’s what the poster meant. In this day and age that’s obviously not the bottom line in spending the most.

Yeah that’s what I assumed too, but that’s not the same thing. That’s their budget for things like junior days, flying to see recruits, etc.

Granted I do not have first hand information, but It’s generally believed that Atlanta businessmen went above and beyond when Kirby came in to make sure they beat AL at their own game.

Thanks for the response. Wasn’t sure if maybe there had been an article about ranking schools by their NIL collectives revenue that I had missed. Would’ve been a great read.

Staying in the “Show me state’, Tennessee is still in a good spot with Ryan Wingo. He has shaken off the crystal balls thrown his way this week. He will officially visit Georgia in June as that’s his only one set for now. He knows he will officially visit Tennessee but he wants to wait until the season to do that as he doesn’t plan on making a decision until the fall or maybe even December.

i like this. get the UGA visit out of the way, give a couple months to cool off from it, come to Neyland for a game day when the Vols are rolling? I will take that over any summer OV.
I'd rather have a summer OV. Get to spend time with the kid. In the fall, it's all in passing because you have a game that day. People say they will take a long recruitment, but usually people these days want it done before their senior year as well so the best visit usually should be before school starts back up IMO. Obviously there are exceptions

We would play and rotate more if we had the depth. We actually play more than 3. Last season we had Hyatt, Bru, Keyton, Tillman and Squirrel. 4 when Tillman was hurt. All had 30+ Catches. Don't get the talk of only playing and rotating 3 WR's. That's just not accurate and if we had more ready they would be in the rotation and play. Bru, Keyton, Thornton and White are 4 that will rotate and this guy would be 5. You saw what we had in the spring game with our top 4 not playing. None of the ones in the spring game are close to playing. Outside of maybe Leacock.

Now that I think about it we really should just use one WR each play. That way you can have 2 RBs, 7 OL, and your QB. Then the defense will always think you are running the ball and boom, you hit ‘em with the razzle dazzle pass play over their heads.
