'24 MO WR Ryan Wingo (Texas commit)

I'm just now catching up on this thread. So does UGA lead for Wingo now?

Man it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see them lose 4 games next year.

Unsure why a really elite wide receiver would go to UGA. Their scheme mostly has wide receivers blocking.

Besides all the dink stuff, the down field throws go to tight ends.

As I recall, toward end of season, weren't they usually playing 2-3 tight ends at a time?

If so, why would a bunch of wide receivers go there just to ride the pine 80% of time.

They started opening it up a lot more once Mitchell and Arian Smith got healthy. I’m not sure if their offense will be better or worse this season, but I think they go with a lot more 11 personnel this season since they have Smith, Thomas, Lovett, and McConkey is a decent college WR. Georgia is so comfortable with their WR room that they don’t look at losing Mitchell as a big loss, and he’s probably a day 2 draft pick. Smith is definitely an NFL caliber WR. Whether they feature him enough to get him noticed by NFL teams is the real question though. Hopefully it doesn’t happen though

Their scout team could beat most of the teams on their schedule. It was weak last year and ridiculous this year. UT is the best team they play by a very wide margin.

Pathetic. Didn’t the SEC take Oklahoma off their schedule too?

Some of you I just don’t get. It’s a fan site so naturally many would say we are WRU again!

I think some of you go count up recent draft pics so you can set the record straight, as far as I’m concerned we are the WRU!

With this coach, scheme, quarterbacks to include Marshall Manning....for next decade, we will again be Wide Receiver U. WOOOOO!!!

Doesnt look that much easier than ours.
Really? Do you see a Bama or A&M on that schedule?

I'll concede that UVA and GT both appear to suck loudly. But UTSA may be better than either and should be better than any other OOC opponent UGA has. UConn was a 500 team last year.

I know it is a "quirk" of the divisional scheduling that created this situation but it is still an extraordinarily weak schedule.

Agree with you...UGA's schedule is a straight up joke next year. So many around the country have said the same.

I don’t really disagree with your overall point but A&M ain’t sh*t

Auburn is comparable to A&M next year.

As gross as it is, USC wont be a cakewalk either. Is it easier than ours sure, a lot easier, debatable.

I think A&M is still more talented than that Auburn team. A lot will depend on how much Freeze puts the pieces together with what Auburn currently has.

They're extremely talented and very poorly coached. That still makes them dangerous to just pop up in a game or two and look like National Champs. IMO, UT dodged a huge bullet when Jimbo snubbed the Vols.

Don’t disagree with that either but they play Ole Miss who beat A&M last year and was a much better team.

Our sched is crazy tough bc of UGA and Bama. Other teams can be good or dangerous but those 2 games are what separates the schedules.

Yeah and we're finally starting to trend again into the direction that teams/fanbases view us as dangerous. Still got a little bit to go but we're certainly on our way.

Auburn isn't close talent wise but Freeze can coach. Still their cupboard is about as bare as the one Heupel inherited. A&M is poorly coached. That contract Jimbo got turned into a trap for the Aggies. But even poorly coached teams can do what A&M did to Bama last year.

What difficult game is on UGA's schedule that isn't on UT's. OM just doesn't have the guns to stick with UGA.

UGA could totally choke and give a few others a chance... but if they bring their B game it will be more than enough for everyone except UT IMO.

That's what people fail to realize. They have plenty of talent. They sucked last year due to QB play and Jimbo's antiquated offense. He has an OC now that can produce points if Jimbo stays out of the way.

Their QB started to look good as time went on

In what, they want no part of us this year either. GBO!
I’m speaking strictly on the talent they’ve put in the league at WR. Right now our best WR in the NFL is playing RB and is a backup Z for the Chargers. Clemson has a guy that has been top 10 WR in the NFL over the past 10 years and the guy our best WR is sitting behind. Plus Tee Higgins
