Pinnacle High School lost 5 games by lopsided scores last year. If Raiola was such a transformative QB talent, that shouldn't have happened. He's overrated, just like the last big-name QB from Pinnacle High School (Spencer Rattler).
He also completed a lower percentage of his passes for 27% fewer yards passing and 10 fewer touchdown passes in his junior season than he did in his sophomore season at Pinnacle High, and he isn't a runner.

I agree Raiola didn’t help Pinnacle at all last year. I mean he added absolutely nothing to that team. Then again he wasn’t even on the team so maybe that makes sense. His sophomore year Raiola played for Burleson high school in Texas. They went 8-4 and he did good from an offensive scoring perspective. His coach was the father of the QB that just got kicked of the Florida team for child pornography.
Raiola move to Arizona and played for Chandler last season. They went 9-3 on the year and two of those losses were to cross town rival Basha. Kiffin has the QB from Basha (Desmond Williams) committed to Ole Miss in this class. In those two games Raiola’s boys only manage one TD combined. I mean that was bad. There are highlights from both games on YouTube. From what I could see Raiola has good size and a really strong arm so I think a lot of his rating is maybe projection like Anthony Richardson going as the #4 pick in the NFL draft.
247 had Nico rated at 100 in the 2023 class and Raiola rated at 98 in the 2024 class. I don’t have any issue with Raiola’s accuracy. If you were looking for a mobile QB though, I think Kiffin got the better pick and it’s not even close. Raiola is a big kid though. From what I could tell he appears to be a good kid, just became a Christian not too long ago, so it makes you wonder why he would be going down to Georgia. joke. lol.
After last season a boat load of Chandler’s players including Dylan hit the “transfer portal” but I couldn’t find any reason. Anyway, Raiola needed a waiver to play at Pinnacle this coming year otherwise he’d have to sit out the first 5 games. I didn’t see if he got the waiver yet.
I generally check out our opponents pretty closely and I’ve followed Raiola since he first committed to Ohio State. I think Austin Price probably said it best on a recent podcast. Georgia already has good QBs on their roster, Beck, Vandagriff, and Stockton. If they’re not throwing TDs why would anyone think Raiola is going to be throwing TDs for the Dawgs.
My conclusion is we have the better QB in Nico. I’m really not even sure Raiola will ever play for Kirby. If recent history is any guide Raiola may not last long in Athens. Kirby isn’t known for developing 5-star QB prospects. For that they have to go elsewhere and given Raiola’s propensity to transfer I’m thinking odds are pretty good that trend continues with Dylan after a season or two between the hedges. jmo.
