'24 MO WR Ryan Wingo (Texas commit)

Do you get the feeling that Wingos recruitment is gonna be a rollercoaster?
No. I havent at all up to this point, and even moreso now.

Listening to the radio this morning, they talked about how this kid carried himself yesterday, at the On3 event in Nashville. Said he just now turned 17, but he is wise way beyond his years. They said he is impressive. Said he had everything written down and documented on what questions to ask, and info he needed...all business, and very mature about it. The way they talked about him, he is the complete opposite of rollercoaster.

That's impressive, and makes me feel even more confident he will make a sensible decision, that hopefully means us.

This really could be a historic class for us.

I heard the interview as well. I guess by rollercoaster I meant the leaders for him will change quite a bit before he commits. He definitely didn’t sound like a typical high profile 5*. He did seem very mature and well spoken. If we get Wingo, Matthews and either keep Harrell or possibly get Wesco, that’s gotta be one of the best WR hauls in the nation.

5-star WR Ryan Wingo
The buzz: Ryan Wingo has been open about taking his recruitment the distance. The playmaker out of St. Louis has official visits with Georgia, Michigan, Missouri and Texas lined up for June. He is planning to take official visits to Miami, Tennessee and Texas A&M during the season as well. Wingo is still keeping his options open, but the schools trending for the five-star are Miami and Tennessee. He has visited each school multiple times and after getting him back on campus earlier this month, the Hurricanes quickly rose up the list. He was back at Tennessee Sunday and Monday and the staff has been consistent. If there is a team to beat heading into the summer, I would lean toward the Vols.

I think the thing that may sway these receivers is the fact that Heupel only plays one set of receivers per game. You are either on the field or not.

This just isn't accurate. He plays all the guys who are ready. I guarantee if he has 6-7 WR's that they trust, all would play a lot every game.

Wingo and Mathews?

Trio trending towards Tennessee
A trio to watch closely if you are a Tennessee fan is linebacker Edwin Spillman and wide receivers Mike Matthews and Ryan Wingo. I see the Vols are the favorite for all three as we enter the heat of the summer. All three have four official visits scheduled this month. Spillman and Matthews are expected to make late summer decisions with Wingo planning to take his recruitment the distance.

Uhhh ohhh, grades??

Lol no. Other posters asked questions about it and from his responses my takeaway was since he isn't close to making a decision it will be tough to reel him in during the Summer with him taking his official this weekend. That is all speculation from my end though. He did say this weekends visit will be huge for them in the long run, but thinks Cam Coleman is closer than Wingo
