'24 MO WR Ryan Wingo (Texas commit)

Don’t care about other programs. I am sure there are other explanations. That’s why I said IF. It my stance holds. If we lose both guys to Missouri (I don’t think that happens), and we hear it was because of NIL then that’s pathetic. Missouri should be able to drop a bigger bag than us. If you feel differently then that’s cool.
So many contradictions in a single post makes my head hurt.

Think these guys are being short sighted, should be looking at who’s going to be throwing the ball to them!

Mizzou aint the spot! Look at the qb’s we have and who we’re gonna have!

It's funny for someone to say it's pathetic if we lose recruits to Missouri due to NIL. Desperate programs are willing to drastically overpay(according to market value) for one or two recruits. The question is, are you building a "program" that way? Will a couple of guys impact the program enough immediately to save a coach that's on the hot seat? Will it elevate your team from the bottom third of the conference, to the top third and beyond if they're surrounded by inferior talent? There's a reason that UT isn't willing to get into bidding wars if another team extremely over values a certain player. The hoopla is great on signing day, but if that is the biggest impact that they make for Missouri then 🤷‍♂️.

Nope. "Pathetic" is being willing to pay more than a player is worth. In this case apparently... a LOT more.

Wingo and Nwaneri aren't enough to make Mizzou competitive and especially if Drink doesn't show better as a coach. If they want to play close to home and happen to work a big NIL out doing it... OK. That's their choice. But UT should give it their best shot while maintaining discipline (ie. Not stupidly overpaying).

Your lack of depth of understanding on this issue is astounding.
Either that or you are just trolling.

I was one who said that. Hopefully I am not wrong. But if we lose both Nwaneri and Wingo due to NIL to Missouri then that just shows we have a very weak NIL setup.

OH, I see how this works now.

This makes multiple posts that indicate rational o jet versus thoughts are not your strength. Almost forgot, I hope I am wrong.

who they got tossing the rock, Uncle Rico?
If you listen to them they have their next Drew Lock, don't go look up who his coach was there at MUtigers, ready to go after RS last year. Sam Horn. 4* out of GA, who had was generating good interest, and then dropped off a cliff his senior season. None of the big schools went after him.

Actually we went after him. His grandparents are both UT alums. Pruitt burned the bridge too badly. His ratings fell IIRC because there was an outside shot he would be a first day baseball pick.

I'm here to help. Instead of:

"Recruit talks about his latest visit"

"Oh man, Vol lock."

Recruit commits to another school...

"WTF?!?! Staff can't close!"
And we feel helped. 😴 Sometimes one needs that self-appointed prophet to lead us out of the wilderness of inferior culture and intelligence and to throw the message board equivalent of stone tablets when we stray from said prophet’s doctrine.

I do kinda wonder how Mizzou gets their nil money, it’s not like Missouri is crawling with money that gets donated to Mizzou

All it really takes is a couple of big boosters to buy 1-2 five stars in a class. Mizzou isn’t out here tossing bags to 25-30 guys each year. Every SEC program has at least a few big money donors, so it’s not surprising they would want to shell out big bucks to keep a few elite guys home.

we were not a good school back then.

We still had a QB guru coach. Horn was apparently his first choice. When he refused to reopen the dialogue Heupel pivoted to Jackson. None of us had any problem with it and I still think Jackson will be a great QB. I saw Horn play Twice live against elite Gwinnett County competition and he’s got a Tyler Bray ceiling with a higher floor. We’ll see what happens.

I could be wrong but I thought we backed off of Horn or something of that effect. I just remember him being heavily interested in UT then something happened.
