Mock 2015 Class (I'm Bored Edition)

It is the dead time and I feel like I don't have a great handle on this recruiting class yet. I wanted to put together a mock class and get some feedback from you guys on if I am on the right track here.

QB - Jauan Jennings - 4*
QB - Torrance Gibson 5*
RB - Rocky Reid - 3*
JUCORB - Alvin Kamara - 4*
WR - Preston Williams - 5*
WR - Van Jefferson - 4*
OT - Jack Jones - 4*
OG - Zack Stewart - 4*

OT - Drew Richmond - 4*
OT - Alex Givens - 3*
C/LS - Riley Lovingwood - 2*
DE - Andrew Butcher - 4*
DE - Dylan Jackson - 3*

DE - Kyle Phillips - 4*
DT - Kahlil McKenzie - 4*
DT - Tim Settle - 4*
ILB - Cecil Cherry - 4*
OLB - Ricky Deberry - 4*
JUCOCB - Justin Martin - 4*
CB - Cam Ordaway - 4*
CB - Micah Abernathy - 3*
S - Stephen Griffin - 3*
S - Rico McGraw - 4*

That is 23 which I think is about right.

2 - 5*'s
15 - 4*s (couple could be 5*'s)
5 - 3*'s
1 - 2*

It seems likely we have another amazing class...am I being too optimistic here?

Other Possibilities
QB - Travis Waller 4* or Sam Darnold 3*
RB - Bryce Love - 4*
OL - Austin Clark - 4*
DE - Josh Sweat - 5*
DE - Darian Roseboro - 4*
JUCODT - DJ Jones - 4*

Yeah, I feel like Van Jefferson and McGraw are the biggest "longshots" you have in this class. Which, is saying a lot since they aren't "no shots." This is a very realistic mock up.

Van's recruitment reminds me of Josh Malone's for some reason. He seems enamored by some out of state schools, going to camps and balling out and climbing the ranks, hopefully he follows Malone on these next ones. Goes from UT having a slim chance, to the full court press being out on, to 50/50, and finally closer to his commitment he's a Vol lock stating wanting to be close to home and the staff as reasons he chose UT.

JMO hopefully it plays out similarly

People will bash you over this, but until those 5 or 6 more actually (if) leave, you have the most accurate numbers.

Give me Settle, McKenzie, Tuttle, Cherry, DeBerry, Jones, Williams and then I don't care. Must fill MASSIVE needs on the D.
Not only that, these guys must practice against the best in order to play and beat the best. The 90's were all about talent pushing talent. Sometimes on the depth chart and at all times on the other side of the ball. That's how you take good to great.

I agree but don't forget we had 7 DL recruits in the 2014 class, 5 of which will be on campus Tuesday I believe.

Things are looking up!

I think it was actually 9 DL kids.

Mixon-DT
Williams-DT
Barnett-DT
Mosley-DT
Robertson-DT may move to OL at some point.
Hendrix-DE
Johnson-DE
Henderson-DE
Sawyers-DT

I could see 6 DTs and 3 DEs in that group. Creamer could end up being #10 and playing DE within a year. Weathered gets in and he is an OLB/DE type as well.

Trust me, I'd love to see Settle choose Tennessee. I just have a feeling that one will not go our way and IMO Howard would be a solid late candidate to take the spot.

After seeing all the CBs for bama for Anderson, something tells me he gave something away in his interview. I'd love to get DeBerry, but Sapp would be a great option.

I just can't see Jefferson going anywhere but osu. I'd also rather see a slot WR to go along with Williams.

Didn't bUTch just make a hint a few days ago that one of the players will not make it to campus? I read his mind and came up with the JUCO, Weatherly not qualifying.

Am I missing something on this matter????

I would guess that was who he was hinting at. Looks doubtful he makes it in.

Per Callahan
I spoke with Weatherd a couple days ago, and he remains optimistic that he'll be good to go within the next few weeks — easily in time for the start of the second session of summer classes — but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. He still has some work to do, but there's definitely a chance he'll be able to enroll at some point this summer without any problems.
