A boy can dream; however, funny thing is it's not completely improbable...23..don't know if we'll see Dews next season but if we do that'd make 24 and for some reason I just don't see Woods with us on signing day.

RB Rocky Reid
RB Bryce Love or Keshawn Vaughn
WR Preston Williams
WR Van Jefferson
OT Drew Richmond
OG/OT Austin Clark
OG Zach Stewart
OT Jack Jones

My class:

QB - Jennings - 4*
QB - Gibson - 5*
RB - Reid - 3*
RB - Kamara - 4*
WR - Williams - 4*
WR - Jefferson - 4*
OL - Richmond - 4*
OL - Jones - 4*
OL - Stewart - 3*
OL - Lovingood - 2*
DL - McKenzie - 5*
DL - Settle - 4*
DL - Sweat - 5*
DL - Phillips - 4*
DL - Dylan Jackson - 3*
DL - D.J. Jones - 5*
DL - Andrew Butcher - 4*
LB - Ricky DeBerry - 4*
LB - Cecil Cherry - 4*
DB - Stephen Griffin - 3*
DB - Cameron Ordway - 4*
DB - Rico McGraw - 4*
ATH - Jaylond Woods - 3*
ATH - Jaason Lewis - 4*
DB - Devaun Swafford - Already on team

That's 25.

Would be DL heavy...but we need that in a bad way. Too many unprovens on the DL to not continue to take players who could make an impact.

I think we get D.J. Jones. I think the connection between he and Butch is gonna help him. Butch helped him get into his JUCO I think, and has kept up with him constantly.

I think we get him, and I think Gibson/Settle/McKenzie/Sweat/Ordway/DeBerry are all coming as a package.

Butch got 9 of the top 13 players in Tennessee last year.

I have a REALLY hard time seeing Rico McGraw, Cameron Ordway, Van Jefferson, Drew Richmond, and Kyle Philips leaving the state if Butch wants them.

I'm waiting for TK Jr, Vic Wharton, Hurd, and the other in-state guys to start twitter recruiting again.

Surprised nobody mentioned Jaason Lewis. Guy had us in his top 2 before he committed to UCLA. He hadn't even visited us.

Now he's decommitted, and you can't help but think that if he visits, and wants to commit, we take him. Dude's a incredible athlete.

The real question is how many potential NFL players are out of the 14 and 15 class. It seems like if you could get 1/4 of your incoming recruits in each class "draft" candidates regardless of round when their time is up on go early, you should win a lot of games. Seems to be working for LSU, Bama right now.. Fulmer had these type of players.. Dooley.. not so much except for a few

Brian Urlacher played safety at UNM...struggled with the transition with the Bears I hear. :glare:

High school or college safeties move up to the front 7 all the time (e.g., Urlacher, Jevon Kearse, Thomas Davis, Eric Westmoreland, etc.), but when was the last time you heard of a 6'4" high school DE moving back to safety? And here's a key factor: UT didn't request him to do it:

Atlanta Sports Academy was moving him to SS
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Dews won't get any playing time at safety for UT with the caliber of DBs we're pulling, and this move will quite literally stunt his growth as a front-7 pass rusher. I predict Dews and UT come to a mutual understanding this summer that it'd be best for both to part ways. Wisconsin recently offered him a scholarship to join their team immediately.

-Swafford (already on team)

I don't think we take Dews with so much talent on the board. I've listed 26 including Swafford. I think we take 3 WRs if and only if Kirk (or that level of elite wants in). I believe we take Clark at TE. I listed Jones and Tuttle as options but if both want in we take both. We absolutely take baker and sweat overa 3rd Wr if both Clark and both DTs want in. Cecil and Deberry are locks as well. I see Riley gettin asked to walk on and possibly Griffin getting asked to walk away if only 25 spots for sure. Bc Jennings could slide in. This would be an amazing talent influx that we haven't seen in....forever. with Gibson, Williams, kirk, Clark,Richmond, sweat, Phillips, McKenzie, baker, cherry, deberry. That's 11 absolute game changers in one class. Would be AWESOME!

Alright, I'll bite:

1. #14 overall, 5* - QB - Torrance Gibson
2. #24 overall, 5* - WR - Preston Williams
3. #28 overall, 5* - DT - Tim Settle
4. #39 overall, 4* - DT - Khalil McKenzie (will be a 5 star)
5. #66 overall, 4* - OT - Drew Richmond
6. #71 overall, 4* - LB/DE - Ricky DeBerry
7. #113 overall, 4* - DE - Kyle Phillips
8. #136 overall, 4* - OT - Jack Jones
9. #145 overall, 4* - RB - Nyheim Hines
10. #159 overall, 4* - QB - Jauan Jennings

11. #230 overall, 4* - DB - Micah Abernathy
12. #234 overall, 4* - DB - Cameron Ordway
13. #235 overall, 4* - DE - Andrew Butcher
14. #411 overall, 3* - LB - Cecil Cherry (4* on Rivals/247)
15. #494 overall, 3* - OT - Zach Stewart (4* on Rivals)
16. #564 overall, 3* - S/ATH - Stephen Griffin
17. #747 overall, 3* - DE/OL - Dylan Jackson

18. #784 overall, 3* - OT - Alex Givens
19. #947 overall, 3* - RB - Rocky Reid
20. #N/A overall, 2* - LS - Riley Lovingood
21. Prep School, 3* - LB/ATH - Jerome Dews
22. #3 overall JUCO, 4* - DT - D.J. Jones

04 - 5*
12 - 4*
05 - 3*
01 - 2*

2 - QB
1 - RB
1 - RB/WR/ATH
1 - WR
5 - OL (1 LS)
3 - DT
3 - DE
1 - LB/DE hybrid
3 - LB
3 - DB

Should easily sneak inside the top 10, probably even top 5, with that class. Counted Dews, discounted Woods. Curious about Jashon Robertson situation and if he should be included in the class since he was a "blueshirt". Picked Hines as our second back, but could have easily picked Love or James Allen - just think Hines is the better looking prospect of the 3 and it's still early so why not. Alvin Kamara would be huge but I'm not getting my hopes up. As for WR, I honestly have no idea who will take that second spot - if anyone does - McCleskey is a name everyone likes. Van Jefferson no one really seems to have a good read on, but the feeling has been OSU from the start. If we take 23 in this class Quarte Sapp or Dee Smith would be my last choice.

It does look as some take the kids we are in on and literally go down the list and add the highest rated player at each position. Need 2 LB's? Add the 2 highest rated. Need 3 CB's? Same thing. It's just not reality at all.

I believe Robertson was actually a signee like the rest of the 2014 class. I don't think there were any BS in the class.

Go 6-6 and don't get blown out in the 6 losses. Done.

If UT beats Florida, I think that will be more than enough momentum. Especially with where the Florida game resides in our schedule.

If UT beats UF, Muschamp will have a very difficult time keeping his job unless they go to Tallahassee and win.
