Monken leaving UGA

I love it.

Unlike Bammers freaking out at Kevin Steele coming back, I think they're fairly justified in being dissatisfied with this one. I've never been impressed with Bobo.
Bobo was pretty decent coaching under Richt he’s nothing special though they will be a run heavy and pro style throw to the tight ends offense. Monken is a big loss for them though he tweaked things and their offense was more potent and unpredictable and dynamic with him compared to the previous OC’s Kirby had. Georgia will still out talent most everyone they play next season and they have a very favorable schedule but I don’t think they will 3 peat.

He had a couple years towards the end that were better than the years preceding, and he parlayed that into the Colorado St job.

As an OC, his earlier years at UGA, time at USCjr, and time at Auburn weren't good. I think this is a good development for us - he'll have a boatload of talent of course, but I don't think he's a particularly dynamic or creative playcaller.

His time at Auburn definitely wasn’t good he’s more predictable than Monken was. It’s a downgrade no doubt.

Yeah, last year they were very heavy into a tight end offensive style. I don't see much changing when you have weapons like Bowers. It's a good fit to hire Bobo.

Read the comments and quote tweets. UGA fans are melting down.

I don't give much credence to internet fan commentary. Georgia message boards have always been heavily populated by some prolific pretenders from other teams. They've had slim pickin's for trolling recently but they're coming out of the woodwork today.

I am sorry to see Monken leave. If it's working, continuity is a good thing; I said the same after Jim Chaney left too. But, Bobo had some good offenses at UGA before and he has a much better support staff this time. Also, Georgia's OL is in better shape right now than it ever was in Bobo's previous tenure. Losing Monken definitely adds questions about next season, but coaching and player turnover are the downsides of success.
