Monken leaving UGA

Kirby has ran off more QBs than he has had for starters. New QB + Bobo = start the decline! I have said for 5 years Kirby is Brutus Fulmer Jr. And because he’s at his Alma Mater, will have a similar tenure….
need another comparison? Spurrier!
after they win it all, complacency at “your school” sets in and years 6-10+ are vastly different!

This will be fun to watch since Kirby doesn’t have his security blanket in Monken/Bennett anymore!!!

Mike Bobo promotion incoming
Bobo was pretty good there before. When he left the first time they were riding a 5 game winning streak against us. We were 2-6 against them when he was OC there, and their DC for those 2 wins now works for us (Willie Martinez). I'm not exactly thrilled. I was hoping they'd continue to open it up and get soft like Bama has.

As a Dawg fan I hate to see CTM leave. If I were a Vol fan I would be just as happy about as most of you folks. Yes I’m apprehensive about Bobo. He will have more talent to work with than before but only time will tell. I do think it’s possible that with a new OC and new starting QB our offense might go back to more ball control and leaning on the defense. We will see. We can win that way in most games next season, but if or when we play against a high powered offense it could prove difficult. I’ll admit that if the TN offense resembles last season, that game in Knoxville could be very tough. Hard to tell right now. But Monken is surely a big loss for us.

I visit this site bc since joining I’ve found that many very knowledgeable football fans post here. I throughly enjoy reading their posts and learning about TN football. I’ve read two of your posts and already I couldn’t care less what you think.
So, I'm guessing knowledgeable football fans don't post on Georgia sites. Makes sense.

No we have some knowledgeable ones as well. If I’m being honest though I will admit that there are many newcomers bc of recent success that get a bit high on the horse as if we have always enjoyed success. It can be rather annoying at times. Most of the regulars that contributed through the rough and heartbreaking years aren’t so bad.

We prefer the “Woof Woof” or “Ruff Ruff”. The “arf arf” is the little pansy timid bark given in a last ditch effort to be condescending right before the tail goes between the legs. Really though, the barking isn’t that annoying, it’s the shedding. Too bad Bulldogs aren’t hypoallergenic.😂

This is fantastic news. Them bringing Bobo back is even better for us than Chaney I think. Monken was an elite coordinator. Glad he’s gone.

Interesting analysis.

I like that VolNation has a reputation with other fans (to be frank, most other message board have horrendous layouts) and my philosophy is as long as you don’t come trolling, I’m happy to hear your opinion.

UGA has averaged 40 points a game twice in its history. Once with Monken. Once with Bobo. Nothing to celebrate. He's an excellent OC

How was Monken elite? You ever think it’s the talent Monken had at UGA that made him look good? Look at Bono. He sucked at SC. Now he comes to UGA and he will look like a rockstar. Why? Because of an elite roster. Bobo is an average OC, but with UGAs talent he will look much better than he actually is.

Monken is a better OC than Bobo in my opinion. They averaged around 40 points per game under Monken the last two seasons and he’s had a good amount of success in the NFL too. His offense led the league at Tampa and his offense at Cleveland was one of the best as well. It’s good news for us that he’s leaving. I agree that talent matters but so does play calling and he seems like he’s very good at that. Their offense will be more predictable now. That’s my hope anyway. Either way, it’s not ideal to have a brand new coordinator potentially tweaking the offense along with having to find a new QB.

They could make Pruitt the OC and that roster would put 30+ on the board every weekend. Filthy amount of talent....everywhere.

The last team Bobo coached at UGA averaged 40 points a game too. We were we glad he left back then, and we were right because they brought in Brian Schottenheimer, Richt got fired and we won 2 straight after he left.

Do you think Bobo is a better coordinator than Monken?
