RIP Monte….. when Lane was hired I was working the student gate at Thompson Boling arena. They were there to be introduced to the Basketball fans. When they came in they were in the concourse by our gate, they were looking for Monte, he was standing in line to buy popcorn with about 20 other people. I knew then that I liked him! A regular person.

When Lane was coach at FAU Monte used to shop at my publix store now and then and I got to talk to him a few times, Just a super nice man and a joy to talk some football with...He will be missed and my condolenses go out to his family.

I liked Monte a lot more than his son. Monte had class. His son doesn’t have any class. Only thing I fault Monte for is not busting Lane’s ass more. He would have taught him how to treat people. Rest in peace Monte.
