Have to admit I’m not well versed in the character. I know he started out as a Batman pastiche. Later they added the Egyptian elements so he had some powers. Eventually landing on Dissociative Identity Disorder.

I always liked the way he looked and the Bull Sienkiewicz covers in the 80s are striking to this day. The few times I tried to pick up his books as a kid I just didn’t get hooked into the story to keep getting it.

With that said I did enjoy the first episode. Set the stage pretty well. Plenty of mystery and mysticism to hook you.

Will be interesting to see which way they go.

From what little my attention span would allow to read last night, the powers are fleeting? That there's multiple personalities (people) and an Egyptian god involved is something. Will it be like a Hulk-ish character that has to summon it at opportune times?

The interwebs also said, like Bruce Wayne character is at peak of human fitness and an expert in martial arts. But possesses no real super powers other than what the Moon god gives.

Who knows?

I thought Oscar and Ethan Hawke were both great actors in their parts

I thought it was interesting given I had no idea about the character. The first episode was like a mix of Venom, The Mummy, and Night at the Musuem.

That’s quite the mix LOL

I did think the Venom voice-over was awkward. Didn’t apply it to Venom until you just said it.

I've never understood the need to watch an entire season in a few days. I enjoy the anticipation of new episode every week and the discussion leading up to that episode.

I do too. It’s something to look forward to over a 6-10 week span.

Yep. Right there with you.

I will say, however, I don’t agree with this point on shows that do 30 minute episodes. At least give me two at a time if I’m going to base my night around watching short episodes of a show I’m looking forward to.

I think 40-50 minutes of better content (Disney) is better than the dragged out filler of NF. Whatever they're doing now is fine, dont want to tinker with it. And, if it means one epi a week, so be it.

Very interesting episode last night.

Cant decide if I love it or its starting to try too hard. Its overly complex for sure.

Right now it feels a bit out of place in the MCU. I get everything doesn't have to fit completely, but it's kinda hard to explain. Like does Doctor Strange know that Egyptian gods are "real"? Do the Eternals know about them?

I'm not concerned about all that.

Im talking about the clunkiness of trying to work 'all that' with multiple personalities, egyptian gods, and then action. its a lot.

Yeah, and Oscar Issacs is doing a phenomenal job on that part.
But, I'm with you in that it needs to be a little more "focused ".

Man, the first 20 or so minutes of the latest episode has been entertaining. But, I'm watching the end of the Clippers game before I finish it.

I agree that they need to dial it back (I’m sure it will finish strong). Lots of potential still, but it’s getting a little old.

I watched the first episode the other night. I wasn't that into it until maybe the last 15 minutes, the end was really good. It got me interested in watching the rest.
