just guessing but the whole mental institution may be an intervention by a god - the one whose avatar told him where to find the directions to the tomb. perhaps some way to preserve the soul after being shot until there's a way to get Marc/Steven back in the game. wonder if the hippo was the representation of that god?

Maybe they won't. Might get a 2nd season
Hot take: havent seen the namesake character in 2-3 episodes now. Disney finally bit off more than it can chew, really, dissapointing. Show has/had potential. Too convoluted. Damn shame bc its really has some fine acting.

I read that Oscar Issac as of now only contracted for the one season. That obviously can change but I believe the thinking is he felt a bit burned by signing the long term deal for Star Wars because the end result didnā€™t turn out great.

I enjoyed the Moon knight comic as a kid. I find this show almost unwatchable and not sure if I can get past episode 3.
Conversely I enjoy a thought provoking and original narrative, esp fantasy or scifi. This all over the place.

I'm still watching, but this just hasn't hit the sweet spot for me yet. I want to like it.

This is the first MCU show that I havenā€™t been excited to see the upcoming episode each week. Itā€™s great that theyā€™re willing to try a different approach, but itā€™s lost the point of what the show should be about.

Just watched the 5th episode and I truly donā€™t get the ā€œall over the mapā€ criticism.

The psychodrama makes for a little chaos but the storyline is pretty straightforward.

Marc Spector is a man with dissociative identity disorder. He is an avatar of an Egyptian God trying to stop Harrow from waking up another Egyptian God that will do bad things. Along the journey we are exploring Marcā€™s multiple IDs and his trauma that triggered the disorder.

Whatā€™s not to get here?

I have felt like the story has moved a pretty brisk pace.

I don't think it's been all over the map, but I think they have set themselves up that they have a LOT to resolve in the finale unless they already have plans for a Season 2 (or some events tie into another future film/show). The word is the finale is only 45 minutes, which will be the shortest finale for any D+ MCU show yet. So that's a lot of wrap up in 45 minutes which may not even mean 45 minutes of story, that may include opening and credits.

Free Konshu and stop Ammit. Sounds like 2 episodes but then Iā€™m sure some would complain that the whole Konshu rescue was ā€˜fillerā€™.

The comic fan accounts I follow on SM are probably 75% positive. With the biggest criticisms being not enough suit and ā€œshould be rated Rā€.
