in the title game despite being #2 in the country (we throttled Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl).

as i've said previously. . . 07 was a fluke year. remember BC was ranked #1 at some point. not sure that year is repeatable. As for 2001, the primary reason for that year is now the head coach at cal. and i could give you 10 similar scenerios to yours for cal. i.e. if longshore doesn'/t get hurt in 07, if aaron rodgers returns in 05, if mccarthur doesn't fall down on 4th and goal against sc in 04, if desean jackson doesn't step out of bounds in 06. . . etc etc etc. my point? college football is a crapshoot. maybe in 01 and 07 (or even 09) your stars aligned in a way that isn't repeatable.

Our problem is our players get stoned more than they throw stones.

Versus on VN where posters seem to do both heavily. Our odds keep getting better to beat the ducks but then have them have a weak season and it not count for squat.
