There is a report out there that:

“A year later and the fight song doesn't even play in the stadium after the quarterback throws a touchdown. Deion Sanders told the band they couldn't play if his son Shedeur Sanders scores a touchdown so that the loudspeaker can play a recording of his son's song "Perfect Timing."

Disclaimer: I have not verified if this is true.

Colorado is in for a rough year. I think Deon follows his son to the NFL and they will be searching for a new coach next year. Major rebuild coming...

If reports of the CU lockerroom and Prime's treatment of players are true, they need to move him on asap so they can actually rebuild. Apparently, he is too self-absorbed with himself and the bias he shows his sons to do anything meaningful as a coach there. His sole reason to tkae the CU job was to get his sons a better look for the NFL. Had nothing to do with the other players on the roster. They are just necessary evils to Prime. The only thing Prime does well are the AFLAC commercials with Saban.

Travis Hunter as well. He is Deon's "adopted son".

It's a classic case of a narcissist's narcissism working against his own self-interest.

If he wants his son to look good, then he needs an O-line that can protect him.

Going 69-134 with 2 1-win seasons, 2 2-win seasons, 2 and 3-win seasons, and only 2 seasons above since 2006 will do that to you.

They were looking for anything to generate buzz/interest around the program, and it worked.

Thats a short-term benefit though. Once deion leaves/or is fired, they're gonna be right back at square one.

Found this gem on one of their message boards:

"I would disagree on the defense. Last year we were 130 in total D, right now we are 97. Not great by any objective standard, but comparatively improved."

Some still have faith.

So you are saying they are happy being 4-8 because they went 1-11 the year before.
An entertaining, attention-getting 4-8 is a lot better than an anonymous 1-11. It isn't like they're some historically great football school with an image to protect.

They don't care. They're fine with having to start over (again) if he leaves. They went 1-11 the year before he got there.

This is what happens when a state “legalizes it”. They put off their rebuild for several years instead of trying to fix it now.

I honestly wonder if Shedeur has already significantly harmed his draft stock. Leaving a game early is a bad look. A huge red flag! Some people were projecting him as the #1 pick. I can't imagine wasting a #1 pick on a huge prima donna QB. He might still get taken in a later round, but I think NFL front offices are going to be wary of using a 1st round pick on him in spite of his talent.

Yep. Very capable QB when not running for his life or getting pummeled. After last year you'd think when they all sat around around flapping their gums about they comin again this year, someone would have jumped up and said I got a great idea!! If you're not destroying your own locker room, there's guys in the portal that can block and easily upgrade their trash line. If his O-line is capable then he bought the wrong coach. After Saturday, I'd have got on the bus, looked at the O-line coach and told him to have a plan to teach them to block in three days and present it to me when we get off in Boulder, and then makes sure it works next Saturday.

That’s cool that Joel Klatt posts on their message board.

I've always been a Deion fan. I don't really like anything happening in CU, but I'm not a hater...this is rock bottom, IMO. This is worse than going 2-10. The hype train was fun for a minute, but I don't think anybody's been having fun for the last 11 months, and they're a laughing stock. Deion is not capable of building a real program because his behavior alienates too many people. Everybody appears disposable except his sons and Hunter.

If you're 2-10, you always have the hope you can get a new coach and move on. It's not that bad. We are going to remember this Deion thing forever.

I think everybody already knows he's a prima donna. It won't discourage all 32 teams from taking a look at him. Caleb Williams was a walking red flag in terms of attitude at USC and he still got drafted 1st overall.

I'll say this about Shedeur - he is a prima donna and bad teammate but he's as tough as nails and if anything probably has a chip on his shoulder. A lot of people think he can't play or is highly overrated because he's Deion's son, which I think is just objectively not true.

Kinda like UF people thinkin there was UF football before Spurrier.

Colorado had a 4-6 year run. Before and after, not so much. But, no reason not to be an 8 win program.

Yeah, probably will cost him a little, but teams are going to convince themselves Shedeur is like this because he has enablers everywhere. They'll think they can make a grownup out of him, and they might be right.
