More Deion silliness.

Yeah, probably will cost him a little, but teams are going to convince themselves Shedeur is like this because he has enablers everywhere. They'll think they can make a grownup out of him, and they might be right.
Only if they tell Prime his son has new owners now and STFU.

Ehhhhh...I'm not so sure NFL franchises are looking to raise a manchild.

I've always been a Deion fan. I don't really like anything happening in CU, but I'm not a hater...this is rock bottom, IMO. This is worse than going 2-10. The hype train was fun for a minute, but I don't think anybody's been having fun for the last 11 months, and they're a laughing stock. Deion is not capable of building a real program because his behavior alienates too many people. Everybody appears disposable except his sons and Hunter.

If you're 2-10, you always have the hope you can get a new coach and move on. It's not that bad. We are going to remember this Deion thing forever.
I'm a Prime fan no doubt. I like the guy.He has his quirks and spots to improve, but he's also a pretty stand up guy all around.

I did hope he would do well at CU for his sake, but he's already tarnished himself in less than 2 years. This may only be CU, but it still ain't JSU. He was doing good things there, and for good reasons. Too bad he walked away from. I remember last year when they were winning their 4 games there was a shot of them on sideline after some good plays and he was hugging on his kid and all emotional in game and you could hear "my son, my son" and i'm thinking, your on national tv, and what about your other son. That was a cringe moment.

Like 005 said, it was the same debate with Caleb Williams and he went #1.

Russillo talks about this all the time, but NFL and NBA front offices can and often will talk themselves into thinking they can fix any guy, no matter how broken (if there is talent).

Yeah, how well did that last in the NBA with the Ball's. THey may still be playing, but I rarely see their names, and never see pops anymore.

Caleb didn't arrive with an intermingling parent though. A Sanders kid will. And Shilo to a lesser extent since he's not the favorite, and that'll bring alot more head issues.

If it's true Prime don't let them play the CU fight song after scoring, and hte press box has to play Sheduer's song, then he effectively tells the team in any and every way possible this ain't about them, a team, or CU. I can only imagine how the O-Line got dressed down on the way back to Bolder, and it being made about "my son."

Kinda like UF people thinkin there was UF football before Spurrier.

Colorado had a 4-6 year run. Before and after, not so much. But, no reason not to be an 8 win program.
Consistently being an 8-win team, even in a reconstituted/weakened Big 12, won't be easy for them. They aren't a historically stronger program than Arizona St, BYU, Utah, or West Virginia, and in more modern times you can argue that Iowa St, Kansas St, Oklahoma St, TCU, UCF, and maybe Arizona have advantages that Colorado does not. Kansas and Iowa St have been horrible over the years, but currently have really good head coaches. Kansas St has been a persistent overachiever ever since Bill Snyder got them running in the mid-90s. As long as Gundy is there, Oklahoma St will be one of the better teams in that conference. TCU and UCF have huge recruiting advantages over Colorado.

To get to 8 wins, you really need to be going .500 or maybe a little better in conference play, but that will be hard for them unless they hit a home run with a head coaching hire.

Agree. Regardless of who coaches there you still have to convince players that Bolder is a destination and CU is the place to be. There's not a school you listed that should ever finish worse than CU. CU had their chance to shine in the PAC12 and still couldn't. You only really had to beat 2 teams.

I'm not sure I see the talent with shadeur. I think daddy is the main reason he's even considered. But NFL franchises make terrible terrible personnel decisions all the time so who knows.

Yeah, maybe not. 69% passer with 32 TD's and 5 picks and he's dual threat. He doesn't have an especially strong arm but a good one. I see no red flags except the maturity.

And if he's this productive in a BS program with enablers, then wait to see what we can do with him when we get him into our building.

I would have loved to see Shadeur in another system. I think he is good/great, but playing on a bad team and not getting the best coaching to be really elite.

I think he would have killed in Heupel's offense.

This Colorado team won't have a winning record.

There is a report out there that:

“A year later and the fight song doesn't even play in the stadium after the quarterback throws a touchdown. Deion Sanders told the band they couldn't play if his son Shedeur Sanders scores a touchdown so that the loudspeaker can play a recording of his son's song "Perfect Timing."

Disclaimer: I have not verified if this is true.

Two things about this story -

One, if it's true, Colorado deserves it for having surrendered their program to the Sanders brand. That man and his kids are hustling Colorado for all its worth, and the Buffaloes are letting them get away with it. Astounding stuff.

Two, I wouldn't laugh too hard at Colorado. I don't know if anyone's noticed this, but the Pride of the Southland doesn't play as often as it used to. And we get a lot more canned music at games.

As a non-biased observer, my think box says Sheduer has a ton of upside, cause he's accomplishing what he has at CU despite the O-Line.

Colorado has released an official statement about this

Colorado releases statement on Deion Sanders reportedly telling band to play Shedeur's song instead of fight song

Basically, this is true but it's only "a small snippet" of his song that plays before the traditional songs are played by the band.

"“This is not true,” the statement reads. “Nobody ever asked the band to refrain from playing the fight song. After a touchdown, the band plays “Glory, Glory, Colorado” and after a point after touchdown, the band plays “Fight CU” as has been standard practice for years. When Shedeur Sanders scores, the band will wait a moment a for a small snippet of Shedeur’s song to play before immediately kicking into “Glory, Glory, Colorado.”

Didn't Deion seem to fancy himself a rapper at one point also?

For some reason I recall him being the "musical guest" on SNL one time?

I keep hearing that it couldn't be worse for Colorado than it was before Sanders got there. Just wait till you see the mess he will leave when he is fired, that one win season may look pretty good at that point.

Just my opinion but he is going to destroy Colorado's athletic department and they will deserve it for hiring him.
