More Deion silliness.

Colorado has released an official statement about this

Colorado releases statement on Deion Sanders reportedly telling band to play Shedeur's song instead of fight song

Basically, this is true but it's only "a small snippet" of his song that plays before the traditional songs are played by the band.

"“This is not true,” the statement reads. “Nobody ever asked the band to refrain from playing the fight song. After a touchdown, the band plays “Glory, Glory, Colorado” and after a point after touchdown, the band plays “Fight CU” as has been standard practice for years. When Shedeur Sanders scores, the band will wait a moment a for a small snippet of Shedeur’s song to play before immediately kicking into “Glory, Glory, Colorado.”

There's at least one supposed parent of a Colorado band member on CFB saying that the press release is not true, and that the band was explicitly told not to play Glory Colorado after Shedeur Sanders touchdowns or Mata field goals, and could only play the fight song after the extra point.

Could be a fake account of course, but I'll be curious to see if anyone else in the band corroborates their version of the situation.

Regardless of how they've twisted the band - it's all pathetic. Not the band, I mean. The Colorado "leadership." The football staffers promoting it, too. They're a sorry lot of self-centered twits.

**EDIT** - Correction, the poster said they were the parent of a band member.

I've always been a Deion fan. I don't really like anything happening in CU, but I'm not a hater...this is rock bottom, IMO. This is worse than going 2-10. The hype train was fun for a minute, but I don't think anybody's been having fun for the last 11 months, and they're a laughing stock. Deion is not capable of building a real program because his behavior alienates too many people. Everybody appears disposable except his sons and Hunter.

If you're 2-10, you always have the hope you can get a new coach and move on. It's not that bad. We are going to remember this Deion thing forever.
Give it 6 moths and no one will care about his clown a***

I honestly wonder if Shedeur has already significantly harmed his draft stock. Leaving a game early is a bad look. A huge red flag! Some people were projecting him as the #1 pick. I can't imagine wasting a #1 pick on a huge prima donna QB. He might still get taken in a later round, but I think NFL front offices are going to be wary of using a 1st round pick on him in spite of his talent.
If you draft Shedeur, does Daddy come with him?...

Gameplay doesn’t matter when the Titans have a first round draft pick. Some NFL teams are too lazy to even look up a box scores.

I’ve said it before. Dione is copying Llavar because it worked. He has 3 NBA kids and the oldest one shoots like a girl.

All you have to do is send them out west and get them to talk outlandish trash about being the greatest. People with common sense will reject it, so naturally the “progressives” will eat it up, as if taking up Dione Sanders’s goals are a noble cause.

Found this gem on one of their message boards:

"I would disagree on the defense. Last year we were 130 in total D, right now we are 97. Not great by any objective standard, but comparatively improved."

Some still have faith.

Is this that Pat Forde guy talking about Greg Schiano?

If reports of the CU lockerroom and Prime's treatment of players are true, they need to move him on asap so they can actually rebuild. Apparently, he is too self-absorbed with himself and the bias he shows his sons to do anything meaningful as a coach there. His sole reason to tkae the CU job was to get his sons a better look for the NFL. Had nothing to do with the other players on the roster. They are just necessary evils to Prime. The only thing Prime does well are the AFLAC commercials with Saban.
I think the commercials suck=Saban and Sanders......

We can hate him all we want, two of his three kids became legit big ballers. Just sad that one can’t get healthy.
Absolutely. But just calling this what it is. This is just one big promotion of the Sanders family brand in Boulder. They won't reach 4 wins this season and he won't be coaching next year.

I think it’s infinitely worse. Lavar didn’t intervene at UCLA with Lonzo, seemingly left Lamelo’s Australian team alone and accepts that LiAngelo isn’t good enough.

There is a report out there that:

“A year later and the fight song doesn't even play in the stadium after the quarterback throws a touchdown. Deion Sanders told the band they couldn't play if his son Shedeur Sanders scores a touchdown so that the loudspeaker can play a recording of his son's song "Perfect Timing."

Disclaimer: I have not verified if this is true.
This isn’t silliness. This is downright stupid. Could you imagine this fanbase if he didn’t let the band cue up Rocky Top. He’d be run off faster than Schiano.

If Colorado loses this weekend I imagine the coverage of the Buffs will fade away and they will become an afterthought. This weekend is pretty much their best shot at a win going forward. Maybe Texas Tech, but almost every team in the Big 12 is decent. No one is really good, no one is really bad. Outside of Colorado.
