Honestly I find it hard to blame UT here. Completely unassociated media markets and outlets have been reporting Gruden/Tennessee stuff for months now.

But, carry on with whatever this is.

If I were you... I wouldn't believe a single thing being said until you see a guy at an official UTAD press conference being announced as HFC.

For every Urban Meyer/OSU or Nick Saban/Alabama parallel there is a Les Miles/Michigan counter.

Just ride it out and don't let yourself get jerked around. This is the hotbed story and a lot of these "sources" created their account this month.

Doc- I appreciate your candor, and your respectful response. Of the two bolded statements, one is a quote from my friend, and gives his perspective- hence "you guys". I presented this statement in the post in quotes to be clear that it was not mine. The second bolded statement is mine. I am an avid UT fan- hence the perspective of "we".

I'd feel better about Fedora than Golden. I think either guy could have won 8-9 games with this team.

I would agree with that BUT Golden definitely isn't getting us to the SEC championship? Fedora has upside but would be down the list.

You know, it is worth putting out there. Is Gruden such a narcissistic diva that he cannot get out of his own way? It has been impossible for anybody to close a deal with him to date, and it might be that nobody will ever be able sign him to a deal.

Someone walk up to Gruden in Vols gear and ask him this..."Hey Mr. Gruden I'm sorry to bother you, but Who's going to win Monday Night?"

I bet he gets mad with the Vols gear thinking your going to ask him about UT. Then he goes oh you want to talk about Pro Football and starts breaking down the teams and other information about players and plays.

Just to show him some of us actually care about football and other sports and not about rumors about who the coach is or will be.

UT has specific NCAA oversight obligations that are unique due to the probation they are under. This one of the items they were supposed to talk thru in today's meeting. I also don't think Gruden is upset that chat boards are generating rumors. I think he is upset that they are being picked up as news and impacting his kids at school, and his wife at home.

It is ludicrousness for him to think this thing could be pulled off without leaks and rumors. The media has been very cautious about saying anything except for the Memphis T.V. station. The message boards are the driving force behind the leaks and rumors. It will be hilarious when people are wiping eggs of of their faces when this is all said and done. The problems with the "Gruden" rumors are if they are not true, then Hart will be vilified for blowing some deal and the coach hired will not be given a chance - unless he wins 9 or 10 games next year.
