More Global Warming Profiteering by Obama Energy Official

subsidies aside (if it's possible), if farmers want to sell their corn to make ethanol, and it pays them more, what's the complaint?

My complaint was that Droski claimed that the farmers were primarily to blame for ethanol mandates and that the program was just a payout to them.

Doing what he does, if he wanted to be into that kind of business he could probably make more money sitting at his desk than most any corn farmer.

One complaint is that livestock producers have seen their feed costs more than double.

Another complaint is that the ethanol mandates have a ripple (if not tsunami) effect on food availability and price, not just in your local supermarket but worldwide.

The first year ethanol went into effect there were food riots in 21+ nations worldwide and ethanol mandates were at least partially to blame.

the complaint is they paid off the gov't to get ethanol mandatory in the first place.

Gee, I thought we had almost reached an agreement about who to blame.

What data do you have to support the claim that farmers paid off the government to make ethanol mandatory??? :)

I think if you check into it, farmers contributions were minescule compared to the enviro lobby, energy producers, including ethanol producers and multinational food and grain corporations.

I would just about be my bottom dollar on that.

Exactly right, had this been a private endeavor ethanol would have proven an unmitigated failure and dropped long ago. As it stands now we have no choice, when the federal government cuts deals and awards people handouts they are very rarely undone because of the political consequences and fall out.

So who do you think is making the most money?? (other than the politicians.)

There is no reasonable, logical reason to continue ethanol mandates.

The people making the most money are of little concern to me, the politicians have the power to admit failure and right a wrong. For the reasons I cited above they will not and wee need to hold those who are closest to the lobby, and those who vote in lock step accountable. This is our recourse as citizens, the sad part is we have become so accustomed to government failure we overlook it way too often.

Can't say that I've ever agreed with much of anything more than I agree with that.

Will we the people make our government work for us instead of us working for it or will we just throw in the towel and give in and give up until we are given out?

I'm plumb give out fellers, been cooking gumbo all day and now it's time to get together a little party.

The party party parties on no matter what happens.
(best political party in the world, if you aren't a member you belong to the party poop party. We of the party party may not ever be in the majority but we have 90% of the fun even if lose an election here or there!!!!!) :)

ps; Hope someone shows up with the crawfish pie, loves dem desserts.
