subsidies aside (if it's possible), if farmers want to sell their corn to make ethanol, and it pays them more, what's the complaint?
My complaint was that Droski claimed that the farmers were primarily to blame for ethanol mandates and that the program was just a payout to them.
Doing what he does, if he wanted to be into that kind of business he could probably make more money sitting at his desk than most any corn farmer.
One complaint is that livestock producers have seen their feed costs more than double.
Another complaint is that the ethanol mandates have a ripple (if not tsunami) effect on food availability and price, not just in your local supermarket but worldwide.
The first year ethanol went into effect there were food riots in 21+ nations worldwide and ethanol mandates were at least partially to blame.
the complaint is they paid off the gov't to get ethanol mandatory in the first place.
Gee, I thought we had almost reached an agreement about who to blame.
What data do you have to support the claim that farmers paid off the government to make ethanol mandatory???
I think if you check into it, farmers contributions were minescule compared to the enviro lobby, energy producers, including ethanol producers and multinational food and grain corporations.
I would just about be my bottom dollar on that.
