More News From Bucksnort... More Violations

I thought the recruit that he went and visited 3 days after the tearful presser was Adonis Thomas... I didn't know we were after Jordan that hard at that time as he was a player that had (silently according to most) already stated that he would accept an offer to UT if he received one... Interesting, however, I am still happy about the on-court performance last night. What grit!!!

RIP, DIP, HIP!!!

Well all your bogus information was just that bogus, nothing new in the letter so the rumor mill in Bucksnort is just a fart in the wind, I guess.

Uh, look again, and try to read. He was exactly correct, except it was slightly worse -- it was a major violation a day or so right after his crying contrition speech. Frankly, he was the only one to report it. Hubbs, and boys, completely whiffed, likely because Hammy is trying to obfuscate the real import of the report -- that basketball is going to get whacked.

Hate it for our guys... Pearl has to be gone. No questions now, it's only a matter of time. Hope we can do well in our last season of competitive basketball for awhile. I feel sorry for guys like Harris, who could've gone anywhere, it will be interesting to see what happens with him, I'd expect a transfer bc he's not quite NBA ready yet.

Interesting considering everything I said came true if you care to actually read what happened to us, and in the timeline I stated it would occur.

even if accurate, this is far from "breaking news" that will crumble the program as was indicated by op

I never once stated that it will crumble the program, although after seeing the allegations against us, it would be hard to imagine us not getting fairly severe penalties, causing our competitive teams we've grown accustomed to to be affected by a possible postseason ban and scholarship reductions... All I said was that there was bad news, and there was

Maybe in your wandering, you'll stumble upon it again.

good point, i think i misspell wonder/ wander more than any other word. its good to know the trout farm is still there, i may "wonder" by next time i'm in the area.....a bucksnort is a male deer with a sinus condition

The letter identifies it as a major violation; the only secondary is a different one listed later in the report.

From the article I posted:
"The one new charge revealed in the notice of allegations was that Pearl and associate head coach Tony Jones were cited for a secondary violation of "bumping" 2012 recruit Jordan Adams (Lawrenceville, Ga.), on Sept. 14, 2010, during Adams' junior year when the two visited Adams at Oak Hill Academy."

It normally is a minor violation. The 'AA listed it as a major violation for us.

The OP was right - it was days after his weepy press conference. However, was not during the self-imposed recruiting sanction.

I'm just glad we didn't pay any of these kids like Auburn did Cam Newton, we would really be in trouble then...

Except he didn't say anything that everyone didn't already know - and the one thing he said that was new he was wrong on. He said Bruce violated his off-campus recruiting penalty a few days after the weeping press conference - but that's false because the penalty didn't start till 2 weeks later and the letter said he was in trouble for the "bump" rule not for violating the off-campus restrictions - it had nothing to do with the university enforced recruiting penalties like the OP implied. Also - no idea why the NCAA made it a major violation or how they can do that when it's always a minor.

Honestly, he DID say something new - the fact he knew about a violation that happened 3-4 days after Bruce's crying presser shows he heard the RIGHT news.
