Morgan Freeman: Tea Party is racist

Just by watching the tea party grow. Watching friends and family (racists to be sure) who never cared about politics suddenly become involved.

Watching all these people who are suddenly worried about the economy, who did not care in the slightest for the past 8 years.

Well you can't argue with that. I was foolish to provide any rationale beyond racism

So did the Tea Party members not care while Bush was in office? Is that what we're going with?

many railed against Bush's spending too. Please do the math and see whether Bush's 8 years or Obama's current length of service have cost the US more.

Sorry, I didn't bring up the war protestors, someone else did.

And no, no one will be able to answer why trailer trash suddenly started caring about the "economy" when a brown man was about to be elected.

They're not all of a sudden worried about the economy. They started to protest over the national debt. The two things are separate. And if you haven't noticed it was Obama that raised our debt to unprecedented levels. The fact that he's half black has nothing to do with the level of debt we are facing.

But even if people did just now start paying attention, who could blame them after the market crash in 08, losing their jobs and watching their homes and 401k values plummet? I don't see any indication that these a racially motivated events.

What about the last? Just didn't care yet?

VB's addressed that most admirably earlier. I've used this before but I'll use it again; Obama is Jim Marshall. There are LOTS of people, particularly of a conservative bent, that were very unhappy with much of W's fiscal policies. If that's the "fumble", Obama has absolutely picked it up and run the wrong way.

It's not giving a pass to someone that starts a fire to take special note of someone else that shows up pouring gasoline on it. This is a distinction that has somehow very much eluded your grasp to this point.

Reading not a strong suit. Fixation on silliness is.

Well it was a multi-trillion dollar war based on fabrications at best. Surely that is something Tea Party members would be completely up in arms about.

Fabrications? You mean those from Colin Powell, the ultimate fence sitter, at the UN?

I view Iraq as a long term strategic move ad ridding the world of the tyrant was just a happy coincidence.

In all of your talk of wasting trillions, I have yet to hear you say anything of the stimulus plans and the healthcare disaster. What gives? Racism?
