Having another instate school was not part of the equation and considering Arkansas never played in Atlanta under Petrino further proves my point; Minnesota has no instate competition and much better past successes. Is it a great job as well based off of your criteria? No, it isn’t and it’s due to some of the same issues. Arkansas simply cannot compete with Alabama, LSU, and Auburn even at it’s heights.

Just something I found interesting: By my count, Arkansas has lost 18 straight to P5 opponents. About to be 19 straight, because they’re going to lose to Missouri this weekend.

And they’re 4-4 against teams G5 or lower in the last two seasons.

Barry Switzer endorses Mike Leach for Arkansas job

He’s won everywhere he’s been. He’s taken second-division clubs and made them winners at Texas Tech and what he’s done at Washington State. Quarterbacks and receivers all around the country in high school know what he’s like. They know his reputation. That’s where they want to go to school, where they throw the ball and the things Mike Leach does.
“That’s the guy that’s the best offensive coach out there. He coached Lincoln Riley. Eight guys on the Oklahoma staff were protegees of Mike Leach. He’s my No. 1 pick out there.”

Sounds like, per internet rumors, their main target now is Iowa St's coach and Kiffin as plan b.

Well, it's a mute discussion because the Big 10 would never allow Arkansas to join the league....

He wanted it bad when we hired Petrino and allegedly punched a hole in a wall at the Raiders facility when he didn’t get it. Talked all about it in a candid interview a few years ago when we played Alabama and he was OC there. He was mentioned and maybe interviewed when we hired Morris too, can’t really remember it all runs together at this point lol. We didn’t have an AD during the Morris hire though and Jerry Jones really wanted him.

But would he have left for USC even if Arkansas hired him ? That nobody knows
