Arky. 98 thank you Clint! Rung by rung what a year!
Thanks for the link!
Our honeymoon was to the Sugar Bowl vs. Miami. My Wife got sick from some bad food on the trip.
She sure missed a great game.
wait a sec, Dave
so you honeymooned in New Orleans. With basically the state of Tennessee (because I don't think anyone was left. At least everyone I knew was there).
Your new bride comes down with a form of food poisoning
And you still went to the game
That's gnads of steel right there, brother.
Even better - sounds as if you're still married to her.
. I agree best play I have ever seen in person , thought there was no way he could make that play , Florida 98 number 1 , Florida 92 number 2 what a flood it fell and and auburn in 89 got to be 3 , favorite road game bama in 95No question here. '98 Florida game. Florida wide receiver had at least 2 steps on our defense and Deon Grant makes an unbelievable leaping one hand interception. My favorite play of all time. Missed field goal, ran on to the field, and high fived Tee. The crowd was beyond electric (need new category - maybe nuclear).
Post game Dixie land delight.
Agree, but its a two way street. Could have bad, bad effects also.
"...and on our honeymoon while I was sick he went to a football game instead of staying with me....."
Setting a tone, setting grounds for a quick divorce. One in the same.
My wife didnt understand at the time why I was jumping around the room on our honeymoon in Hawaii when my father called to tell me Peyton was going to stay for his senior year.Reminds me of a friend of mine. Atleast once a year his wife reminds him that the first thing he did upon getting to their room, on their honeymoon, was to turn on the TN/miss st game. I try to defend em by telling her that's what you get for getting married during football season.
btw...they've been happily married for 20+ years.
Same here! That is without a doubt the loudest I have ever heard the crowd. When Stoerner stumbled and Ratcliff landed on the fumble it was deafening. I got to see that game with my dad and it is a memory we both love to bring up every season. My first time in Neyland is a close second. It was 1991 and we played Vandy. Andy Kelly was the man. After I experienced that crowd as a child I was hooked.
December 1971, Tennessee defeated Penn State 31-11.
