Doubtful. They are really only a "thing" for the last 5 years or so (well in recent history anyway). Passable in the June Jones era but fell apart after he left maybe a decade ago.

I have watched some games at their stadium that I am not proud of as it is only ten miles down the road. Honestly I had lived in North Dallas for quite a while before it even c"clicked" that they were a local team

Unless they were playing a big dog at home for some bizarre reason (few and far between), their games vs TCU were always their big draw (Dallas vs Ft Worth, etc).

Yes, I know we are in a new world here-but history is history.
Well the whole premise is the last 10

Michigan State is one that started strong and fell off. I'd put them at over too.

And I would guess Memphis under. They've had some pretty good seasons the last few years.

You got Ohio State, Arizona, and Cinci correct.

Others were correct too but already on the list of guessed.
i went and looked, some I was completely wrong on. thought some were under were actually overs and reverse.

I don't think there was a big danger of anyone overestimating them the first 5 though. Some of the worst CFB teams I have seen. Even that may be over estimating the quality of football they played

If they were under ranked potentially the last five, wouldn't that just move them back to the mean?

I'm actually going to guess Alabama as overrated just as a pure function of math. Bama won three national titles in the last ten years but were the pre-season #1 five times. By this logic, Bama would have had to win half the national titles in order to avoid being overrated.

Abolutely correct.

Which is kind of not fair, but if the team is going to be number 1 preseason every year, they literally have no place to go but down.

Auburn has to be somewhere on the overrated list. Over the last decade they had several seasons of beginning ranked in the preseason Top 10 and then finishing unranked.

2/2 Going strong!

Auburn is actually the #1 most over rated team the last 10 years.

ETA: It also mean Alabama is the most over rated state in America. ;)

Florida State seems to be one of those teams who seem to finish the opposite of how they're predicted to finish, so they could be on both lists.

There have to be some G5 schools that were underrated simply because they were never ranked in the preaseason. What about Liberty and BYU?

Liberty on the under rated list.

Nebraska has to be on the overrated list. They've been preseason ranked a few times but haven't had a winning record in 8 years.
