Mount Rushmore of Tennessee Football Villains

True young and brash does have it's perks, mostly the appeal to recruits, but fulmer didn't lose his job because he wasn't young and brash. He lost it because he lost. He was the beneficiary of some amazing timing, among other things. Bama, Uga, sc, and uf all went through a lot of turmoil and multiple coaches over the course of his tenure. And the sec of then wasn't nearly as competitive as the sec of today. Hell auburn went undefeated and got left out not too many years ago. That would never happen in this era. Im very appreciative of fulmer but we really slipped under his watch. Part of our current situation should be attributed to him having been allowed to stay on too long.

Hall of fame coach and won the NC in 98 dont think it was all timing look back 50 years and ahead 20 more, you might look back and rethink this.:good!:

I have several friends on that played for fulmer during has late years. They all said the same thing. He wasn't getting lazy. He was actually doing more than before. He was way more involved offensively and was virtually the Oc when Sanders was the Oc which one he was wasn't very good at. He had assistants that he didn't trust. We were one great Oc away from being fine. His energy was focused on fixing the mess of an offense and recruiting suffered.

Thank you for making my point. VN posters think they know all about CPF during the latter years. When he wins, the SEC was not that strong. When he lost, he was lazy and old.

Even after he is gone, VN posters will never admit they were WRONG!!!

Unless you're well into your 60s (or older), the only national championship Tennessee won in your lifetime came under Fulmer's watch.

For anyone to suggest he's an all-time villain of Tennessee football is nonsense.

Lawrence, just stop.

Some of my fellow Vol fans are idiots. There is no reasoning with them. Ever. At all.

Save yourself the breath.

I know...m r only has 4 pics in it but hell, it's all just pretend anyway

Tee Martin and Arian Foster??? WTF?

You've put Von Bell on there, but not Derek MF Dooley or Mike Hambone Hamilton?????

This thread has clearly identified the VN contingent that needs to put down the crack pipe.

I liked Phil way more than I like Johnny..

The difference is that I can admit that it was beyond time for Phil to go. You cannot.

I would admit it if true. Like I said before, if you posted his resume without his name, everyone here would want him hired.

Listen as far as putting down the crack pipe...I don't have a problem! It's just for recreational purposes...all day every day! Jk.
This was intended as a joke. Foster, Martin, ect. Haha

If you posted his last 10 years worth of losses without his name, everyone here would not want him hired.
