Moved up to #13 in AP poll

Kentucky dropped to #19. Doesn’t really help them when both the teams they lost to already lost games this week

Kinda funny to see all of the SEC teams stacked up in a row. Glad to see us headed back toward the top 10. And yeah, Kansas being ranked above us is funny, but I want them to do really well for the rest of the year to make our resume that much better.

Also, both Duke and North Carolina are faltering early. Pair that with Kentucky being an apparent paper tiger and Gonzaga getting exposed, and the top of the college basketball landscape could look much different this year compared to most of recent history.

Beat Kansas handily, and still 4 spots behind. This is why human polls are absolutely a joke at best. Anyone got any common sense? Any bias?

I’m not surprised. I doubt a neutral court loss to a ranked team would drop Kansas from #3 to #15 or lower. We would have had to make a monumental climb up the polls to pass them. I figured 12 was our ceiling and it looks like we just missed that.

I’m not surprised either. Just bemoaning the fallacy of human polls.

Stop whining. Kansas lost to a ranked team on a neutral court. We got spanked by Colorado. COLORADO! So should Colorado be ranked above us? Head to head does not work in college basketball rankings.

Nice. Alabama finished 3rd in their tournament this week and jumped us. Guess winning in 4OTs vs UNC cancels out a loss.

Their resume is better than ours. Win over UNC =Kansas, Loss to Colorado >>>loss to #8 Uconn
Polls have always been about when you lose. They should’ve made a jump, but not over a team that went 3-0 including a top 5 win.

It is just the absurdity of the bias built in.

There might be some validity in February, with more data points.

But you have very few data points right now but one you do have is one team demolishing the other team, yet still ranked behind them. It is bias. Plain and simple. “Kansas has to be good, we told you all in the preseason they were!”

Played 3 ranked teams last week. Got
2 wins 1 loss that will move you up if you don’t have previous losses (or many if it were later in the year).

Also only Conn, Arizona and Purdue moved up more than Tennessee. Each of those had multiple ranked wins last week.

Tell yourself what you want but the loss to Colorado is a HORRIBLE loss and should absolutely factor in considering we are only 6 games in. Alabama went 2 and 1 beating 2 teams in the top 15 and only losing to a undefeated, now #8 Uconn. We went to overtime with unranked USC. Currently, Alabama has a better resume than we do.

Lol Auburn is undefeated and actually dropped 2 spots; which tbf they could have easily lost 2 in a row.

We already were moved down for the Colorado loss.
