I think most voters are realizing they overreacted (big surprise ) to the Colorado loss after surveying the landscape of college basketball and the innumerable other puzzling losses by ranked teams, and the fact Tennessee has smothered every other team they've played, defensively. A clearer picture is developing as we enter deeper into December.
I love the jump, however I find it odd to see Kansas getting a 3 spot jump and Tennessee being directly behind them.
And there is quite a bit of points separating the two.
If they are 6 & 7 the head to head by 14 at a neutral should have put Tennessee to 6 and Kansas to 7 or at lest made them very close in points.
**I know it doesn’t matter right now**
Yeah, and the gap isn’t even really close in terms of votes, which surprised me. I guess I get it given that Kansas’s only loss was to a ranked Tennessee team and Tennessee’s loss was to an unranked Colorado, but yeah, it was odd.I don't think it's rational we're a spot behind Kansas but it's nice to see a little rationality return to the poll. I expected the Colorado game was a fluke and we may yet have a couple more of those but it will probably be our worst defensive effort of the season, especially vs a lesser opponent.
Since we didn’t jump ahead of Kansas in the polls immediately after beating them, I’m not shocked we jumped ahead this week. The fact is we were at the verrrrrryyyyyyy back of the Top 25 and had a ton of ground to cover to jump the #3 team. We were never going to be in front of them. We also made another sizable jump up 6 spots this week. So, we’re making up ground quickly but it’s still a lot to cover with how far apart our rankings were when we played.
Yea I knew Tennessee would make rounds last week and this one because of the 22 spot.
The 19 spot difference when Tennessee beat Kansas was a bit too much to make up in one week.
I certainly get it……..just to “me” if they are going to be consecutive, they should be extremely tight and they’re not.
