Movies with TN football in it

I hope everyone mentioning the Taratino movies realizes that he was born in Knoxville.

"Frequently references his home state of Tennessee in his films: In Pulp Fiction (1994), Butch plans to meet his connection in Knoxville, which is also where his grandfather bought the gold watch; the song "Tennessee Stud" by 'Johnny Cash' appears in Jackie Brown (1997); Death Proof (2007) is set in Lebanon, Tennessee; "Lt.. Aldo Raine" in Inglourious Basterds (2009) hails from Maynardville, Tennessee."

Most Tom Hanks movies have a Tennessee reference

Cast Away, for instance.

Tom loves it in East Tennessee. Tom and I became fast friends while I was out west and he and Rita stay in my guest house when they come to visit twice a year.

Pics or it didn't happen.

The short lived tv series "The Class" had a UT helmet in one of the houses. Use to show it all the time.

P.S.: This really was a good show for the one season it lasted! :(

In the remake of dirty dancing.. The main guy tells his friend (when he meets him) that he should try wearing some orange because so people could see him with all the camp on.. In which the kid replies
"I don't wear orange.. I'm a Georgia bulldog"
That's a reference to us.. And the kid that says it kinda looks like peyton

I think you're thinking of a scene in the remake of Footloose. Which was directed by Craig Brewer, who is actually from Memphis.

And yeah that goofy kid does kinda look like Peyton. I think he specifically mentions the Vols in that scene, like he's real offended at the idea of being mistaken as a Tennessee Vol fan. That movie was kind of bad though I think. I kinda quit on it half way through.

David Keith was in an 80s made for HBO movie, Gulag. He was an ex-athlete who was framed by the KGB and jailed in a Soviet gulag. There was a scene that had a him in a UT letterman's jacket

Any movie with David Keith in it has a reference (either visual or verbal or both) to UT football in it. He works it into all of his scripts, without exception.

I do believe that U-571 was an exception to that. However, I believe David Keith was a late addition to the cast of that one.

They drive to Knoxville in the movie Sexdrive..
And in shooter, they go to the little known town of Athens, tn and show a lake.. Despite there not actually being a lake in athens.

Yes he did. Dennis is a good friend of mine and still comes home to chattanooga a few times a year. He is still a strong supporter of UTC and very proud.

I thought he still lived in Chattanooga??? I've seen him a few times at MOCS bball games. He was on the local news the other morning talking about what movies/shows that will be airing soon.

It didn't look like any of that was actually shot here.

Was the team that Forrest Gump returned the kickoff for a touchdown against and running through the band supposed to have been Tennessee? That team looked kind of similar.

Tom told me that it wasn't intended to be any college or university in particular.

The intention was only to portray ritualistic pomp and circumstance of southern college football.
