Incredible film but emotionally tiring. I totally get the full Metal Jacket comparisons. The ending left me confused, however. Can't really get into it here, lest I provoke the spoiler police

I need to roll solo on this one; the wife has been strategically avoiding watching it with me since it came out

I did roll solo on this & I did shed a tear or two at the end. Hard to believe a lucky guy does 4 tours of duty & lives through it all just to meet his maker like that at the end is sad.

There is no statute of limitations on that in this thread, IMO. If the movie had its own thread, I would say yeah. I've never even heard of the movie, so I'm glad it wasn't spoiled.
