Batman - 4/5
Batman Returns - 3.5/5

Watched these two for the first time in (12-15) years and first time on Blu-ray and I have to say while still really good they don't hold up as well in some places. Returns seems to hold up a little better than Batman does. I forgot just how many people Batman (likely) kills!

I will say that Jack Nicholson Joker was better than I remember, I know some have since said it was a bit over the top but to be honest I saw a lot of Mark Hamill's animated version in it and it appears Hamill took a good bit of it when developing that character for the Animated series that was roughly based on these two films.

Michelle Pfeiffer kills it as Catwoman seeing it again reminds me laughable Anne Hathaway's version was in TDKR!

Night watch- watched it on Netflix the other night. 5/10 started pretty interesting, but it gave it away to soon imo.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 8/10

Entertaining through and through. Loved seeing post apocalyptic San Fran being over run by apes. I may like Rise of the Planet of the Apes a little bit more, but they both have their strong points.

Those two were good. The George Clooney batman might be the worst movie of the last 30 years. Just horrible.

Whoops started a new thread when I should have posted this here:

Youth

8/10
OK, I admit the naked girl on the cover was the first thing that caught my attention ..then it was the cast (Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Racheal Weisz, Paul Dano) and finally the Fellini inspired director's (Paolo Sorrentino) great cinematography. It's dark and beautiful at the same time...I'm going to check out his other Oscar winning film, The Great Beauty tonight. It's well worth two hours for the Swiss countryside shots.

I've never seen any of the Troll movies. To get an idea of how bad this movie was, take Battlefield Earth, combine it with Gigli, then add an original soundtrack sung by Roseanne Barr.

That sounds promising. Ha

The Martian 8/10

I was surprised how light hearted it was. Despite that it never felt ham fisted. I appreciate the lack of cliche crying family every time they showed scenes on Earth. Considering the recent death of David Bowie it was awesome to hear Starman mixed into the soundtrack (would have been too easy to go with Space Oddity but they thought a little out of the box). Matt Damon was good in it.

Having said that.... It's Leo's year.

I loved Rise but the apes' broken speech really ruined Dawn for me. I know you can't expect them to instantly be fluent, but I spent half the movie feeling like this:

EDIT: I had the names reversed.

Might be a stupid question but what is the order of these movies?

Really? Everybody I know who watched it said it sucked.

"sucked" is a bit too strong, but I can understand some people not liking it. Not a fan of Amy Schumer (including her character for most of the 1st half of the movie), but she has a good knack for writing. the writing in the movie was very good, and Amy pulled off a good performance, especially when it called for her to get a little emotional. found it overall pretty funny, touching at times, chemistry was good between the characters, and the movie didn't really drag for me (not close as bad as it did for Funny People and This is 40).

the schmoesknow review is pretty much on point with my thoughts and feelings about the movie.

Tomorrowland - 4/5

I didn't know what I wanted to watch last night so I just went what the heck and popped it in my Blu-ray.
I really wasn't expecting much as it was always hit or miss from all the reviews I had read. However once that kid stepped off the bus at the World's Fair I was hooked and found it to be a lot of fun! I can see where some might not have liked it as it did start a little slow.
