I might watch To Kill a Mockingbird tonight for the first time. Im just worried it will be underwhelming after all these years. A Time to Kill is one of my favorite movies, i know it's kinda losely based on TKaM.

Movie had potential but it came up short, that essay was a terrible way to end the movie. It started respectable, then got kind of stupid, then they tried way too hard to get serious. If you're trying to make a statement, and can't do it in the entire course of a film, then coming in at the end to have the main character spell it out for everyone means you aren't doing it right. Shameik Moore was good. Rick Fox was awful

i remember my jaw hitting the floor during that part. so great.

after watching it, i recommended it to a friend of mine. a week later, i got a text from said friend, saying "I f***king hate you right now." turns out he had just watched it lol

agreed, with all of this. i still really enjoyed the movie (mainly the first 2 acts), but the last 5 mins really annoyed me. should have left him leaving his Ice Cube/Friday essay in there.
