Mr. Foster Please Call Mr. D. Green

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought alumni aiding in recruiting was against NCAA rules. I believe casual contact is allowed should they meet on campus, but no outside contact. Add to that AF doesn't look back too fondly at his UT career and I doubt he would do us any favors. And there's a good chance Green doesn't speak pterodactyl.

Seriously, AF's fumbles hurt, but I still supported him. What made me angry was his immaturity off the field(such as the pterodactyl incident). He could have conducted himself with more class. But the past is past, I'm happy he's having a great NFL career. Hopefully someday he'll put his hard feelings behind him and embrace UT once more.

99 everyone knew he was a stud who had a solid career at UT. The only reason we were pissed was because he didn't reach his full potential in college. I loved Arian foster before he was an all pro rb not because he is one now

I'll blame Fulmer for that. He was horrid at talent development. Very few players left Knoxville markedly better than they entered.

I will be totally honest........I never thought Foster could touch Johnny Jones,Cobb,Webb or Graham. Just my opinion.

the love for foster now is laughable.

several people here couldn't wait for him to get out of knoxville.

Ya know, Foster only had 5 fumbles in his career at UT. People forget that I think. The ****!y thing about his was they came at the worst times. Also something to think about, he had the second most attempts in UT history. Think about it.

i've heard of peyton manning and reggie white too.

how bizarre.

How's that trash-talking scheme working for you gaytuhs these days? Of course...not stopping you from visiting VN. Welcome & happy new year, 99.

The easy flip to that is that he had a very mediocre college career with tons of fumbles and because he went to Tennessee he got a chance he may not have if he would have went somewhere else.

Five fumbles in four years. There were a handful of others that carried no great significance in the outcome, though we should note that this is only the case because the most famous one was recovered by Tennessee. But those five plays were the catalyst in five losses.

At least Foster says he's from UT this year instead of mission viejo high. He could have been UT's all time leading rusher with a real OC in 2008

For the record, Arian Foster was a 3 star recruit in the 2004 class that would have been bashed by many posters on here now. Arian has a chip on his shoulder to this day that drives him to be the best. The rating services don't sit in the living room with these kids and look them in the eyes to see what kind of character and motivation they might possess. Butch Jones will do just that. Some of his 3 stars will light it up when given the chance. Let's all remember this when we get too caught up in the player ratings. Even 3 star players or less, when properly coached and motivated, can do great things. When Coach Jones has a chance to assemble his first class from the ground up, watch out.

i'm not saying everybody.

but, when he left tennessee, what he was most known for was fumbling.

i believe it would be accurate to say that for the vast majority of people, it was not shocking to see him go undrafted. it is however shocking to see he is one of the best running backs in the nfl.

more power to him and congratulations. i'm sure everyone wished him nothing but the best as he was never thought of to be a bad kid, and from what i can understand is a very good man.

but, to pretend that he left tennessee as a highly thought of and well respected player would be a little disingenuous

No1 said that ur arguing with no1 and losing i might add

And ask him to name a Michigan RB who ever signed a $43,500,000 NFL contract?

Why not ask yourself why he is now earning so much money? He got where he is DESPITE the stigma and putdowns from haters. I'm not exactly a Foster fan but what disgusts me is people here who MUST hate on the guy. He wasn't anything near perfect, none of us are, but the constant hating of people here shows they're as bad and more likely worse than he was or is. He didn't get his money just because he was at UT. He left in disgrace and loaded down with hate from UT fans. He had to all but break his body to get where he is now. And typically, haters are still hating on the guy.

When Foster decided to come back for his senior year I was very happy. I did not see that trainwreck of a season coming.

It's frustrating he couldn't hold on the ball at UT. Guess millions of dollars help you hold the ball better. However, in his defense, he had a crap line and even crappier offensive coordinators.

Yep, recruiting violation.

I mean, you could take your chances though, it worked with getting Bryce Brown. But trust me when I say it's not worth the possible sanctions :)

Trust me... You don't want fumbling foster talking to anyone... Minus two Foster fumbles at UCLA and Auburn and Fulmer goes 8-4 and is still the coach. The guy is a head case... Give him time and he'll implode in the NFL. His sophomore year at UT was stellar and then his 10 cent head got in the way..

Sad thing about a lot of vol fans is that they get so caught up in what they think a player is not doing that they forget to enjoy what he is doing.

Arian Foster was a spectacular player at UT. As a young man he put together d some very impressive games. He learned from some mistakes and grew into a great player in the NFL.

I enjoyed his career her for what it was. Happy for him now.

. . . Give him time and he'll implode in the NFL. . .

He's in his fourth year in the league. The average career of an NFL RB is only about three or so.

If you mean by imploding that in a few more years his knees will start failing, and he'll be a step or two slower so they'll cut him, I believe you are correct. You are prophetic.
