Well, now that we got that crap out of the way maybe we can get back to the real story.

The whole 80's sitcom rip was totally out of left field. That was not the best episode of the series.

It was amusing but I couldn't help but think of it as a clever stalling/filler tactic to draw out the source material a few more episodes. (some of those old commercials were just straight up pointless)

I'm suspicious that they don't have a lot of story to work with and Esmail is frantically trying to create where this whole thing is going...

They bumped it from 10 to 12 episodes this season, and I"m going to continue to think unless these shows have more story than they had time to show, there's no reason to mess with the number of episodes.

I'm starting to really wish the show was a self contained mini-series like The Night Manager, because it seems to be dragging out the story. But the bigger problem is....I can't even tell what the story is. They have gone so deep into the "Elliot is crazy" aspect that after 7 episodes I don't even know what's real or really what's even going on fully, other than Elliot is in prison.

I feel like the show is just being weird to be weird at this point, and that's all they got.

Watched last seasons episodes and it just got weird as it went along. Decided not to follow season 2 just for that reason and there's other shows to watch like Queen of the South.

Definitely a more experimental vibe in the first half of this season. It was like an extended version of the drug episode from S1 - it added some good characterization for Elliot, but the narrative stalled a lot.

I wish I had waited to binge it instead of watching week-by-week. The season probably would have flowed a lot better so far.

I'll finish out the season but seems like the vibe for the show has dropped pretty well. The ratings are way down compared to the first season. It's already been renewed for a 3rd season but if things don't pick up, that will likely be the last one.

Let's hope for something good tonight. I think last week had some interesting set ups but I'm not sure that all of the stories are chronologically synched so I don't know whether they're setting up something we've already seen or something yet to come.

Why did Wellick's wife call Elliot, Ollie? Ollie was clearly a completely different person who dated Angela.

Interesting twist that I did not see coming!

Surprised people aren't sold on this season yet. Last few episodes have tied everything together nicely.

I agree until episode 11; that was mostly a borefest until the last 5 minutes.

It feels like this season could have been 10 or less episodes. Also, is his sister dead? I know for sure her boyfriend got shot because you could see it but I couldn't tell if she ate it or not. I'm going to guess no, but if she did survive, honestly that's some Glenn under the dumpster level silly.

I'm here but I'm still not really entertained. I'm just watching it because I have been from the beginning. Another hour+ episode with no real coherent story line. We mostly see some depressed FBI chic talking to Alexa who just needs to get laid.

Anyone watching Season 3?

About 5 episodes left, so far it's been pretty good. Bobby Carnivale joined the show.

Parts of this series I enjoyed but that ending felt like one of the most overplayed Hollywood cliches. I won't spoil, but dang I feel like that was a waste of a storyline. Between this and GOT, I'm starting to question whether writers know how to end something anymore.

I thought it was an awesome ending.

I can't think of another psychological thriller that ended with the audience/protagonist finding out he's the parasite and not the host, let alone think of enough instances to call this a cliche

it seemed a lot like the old waking from a bad dream ending to me. Felt like it discounted a lot of the social message.

Not a series finale, but the self discovery scenario you described is pretty much what happened to Bernard in Westworld
