I have seen what you describe from both Trump and Biden in equal measures, and Trump is almost as old as Biden. So, why do you want to believe that Biden has dementia, but not Trump? Because of your own political bias, and childish emotions.

Hence, the real reason he was chosen to be Speaker. This might not be a great move politically. Biden is unpopular with the Democratic Party base at the moment. A majority of Democrats would rather see someone else be the nominee of the party next year. Why take a chance on firing up the base to rally around him?

Also, if Mike Johnson honestly believes that a Senate conviction would be possible while Democrats have a majority control, then he is delusional.

Were you aware that some of those alternate electors signed their names to electoral certificates claiming to already be the lawfully chosen electors from their states?

Were you also aware that those certificates claimed Donald Trump to already be the certified winner of their states, when he was not?

It's election fraud.

It's hard to overstate what a freak Mike Johnson is. The man actually has said that "America's problems are because we didn't maintain
18th century values." I used to joke about how backward right-wingers are. He's DEEP into it. Asked yesterday what informs his positions on issues, his response was: "to pick up a bible." OKaaaaaaay. The nutty christian.

I think I'm actually gonna like having him in such a high profile role in the Republican Party though. He still talks a lot about repealing gay marriage. That only plays well with the geriatric crowd anymore, and is a real turnoff to young voters. He is an uptight radical, and he will be a repellant.

Donald Trump's followers make passionate arguments in favor of theories which they know to be disproven ... only because Trump still makes them, and they must support and defend his belief system. They are a Cult of Personality in every sense of the term.
