Mr. Speaker, answer the question

This is why people don't respond with you... you literally refuse to think you may be wrong.....simply put if he didn't have the power the rules didn't need to be changed. The lawsuits pending would have triggered your precious recounts.
I'm done arguing about your opinion.
But there were no recounts pending as of January 6, 2021, and Mike Pence couldn't just assume that there ever would be. If it was possible to delay certification by simply having a law suit pending, then no election would ever be certified. The losing candidate would just keep filing suits. Al Gore would have done it, if that was viable. Does the term "conflict of interest" mean anything to you?

Some language was changed in the law, but that was only for the purpose of clarity, in light of Trump's actions. Mike Pence did not have the power to avoid counting lawfully chosen slates of electors on January 6th. That's not my opinion. That is an established fact.

Then what law did Trump break?

so you agree there were pending cases regarding possible fraud. Had those cases been won, RECOUNTS would have happened. But because those cases were longshots and not settled Pence didn't have the evidence to reject them like Nixon did. He had the authority with UNANIMOUS APPROVAL on Congress to do so. So yes here had the ability to reject them just as Nixon did.... I'm glad Pence did the right thing... to do anything else without 100% proof would be a disaster.. and I'm stubborn yes

There were recounts anyway. Arizona did at least two recounts. I believe Georgia did a recount. There was no fraud. It was all complete bull$hit. Trump lied to protect his ego--he's always been a fraud--and to once again play his dumb political base, which loves conspiracy theories, and because he's always fancied himself an autocrat. The man is mentally ill and dangerous. New Yorkers laughed at him for many years because he was this real estate clown who did nothing put promote himself with bull$hit 24/7. No one imagined that the corrupt, loud, dishonest bully and con man could ever be elected president. This is a man who took money from a charity to commission a big portrait of himself for one of his golf clubs--and hired someone to produce a fake Time magazine cover featuring him. He's a sick puppy. He claimed he contributed large sums of money to lots of charities. The Washington Post spent weeks contacting every one of the charities to which he claimed to have made donations. Bull$hit. None of them had any record of donations by the gangster. This is a man who started a fraudulent real estate "university" and had to pay $36 million or thereabout to regular folks that he cheated. This is a man who bragged constantly about how wealthy he was and yet he has a LONG history of stiffing people--ordinary contractors and many others--who've done work for him. He's been sued for payment about 200 times. This is a crazy who /seriously/ thought--seriously--that his daughter, who has done nothing but dabble in fashion and help with the family real-estate business, should be, could be, president of the World Bank! He was serious--in his own demented mind. This is a man who tried //desperately// right up until the '16 election to get approval from Putin and the Russians for a development in Moscow. He was a failed developer--banks stopping dealing with him more than 20 years ago. He hasn't built anything in decades, couldn't, and so his business became conning overseas investors---who bought into the fake Trump success story that he's pushed his entire adult life--into taking the actual risk of building a development with the trump name on it. The guy's a low-life and a loser. FACT. That MAGA still support the guy is why rubes are rubes.

Donald Trump's track record reveals someone who will always claim to be the victim of fraud, both before and after his elections, and he will do so, whether he has won or lost. There is not a scenario or a set of conditions in which Trump would ever admit that he lost a fair election. He is too much of a narcissist.

And with all those failures and flaws that you just told us about, he lives in your little pea brain 24/7, nearly 4 years later.

I'm fine with this guy being speaker. I think it will be quite entertaining with his leadership. The downside is nothing of significance will see daylight, unless of course, he wants to move to the middle and advocate for compromise

Just like the Mueller investigation, this bs will just vanish. Why do Dems like bad economies?

Things like this would have more impact if they left out columns such as "Dementia" and "Crackhead Son." That just makes it look like a biased Republican attack from someone who just wants to be funny. That will not change a single vote.

.... and let's face it, Trump has his own legal problems right now, if you want to make the election about something other than the issues facing the country.

The equivalencies that some of you draw are just insane ....

You think the Steele Dossier is the same thing as Trump's efforts to overturn the outcome of his own defeat, through bullying Pence into participating in the alternate elector scheme? We even had a riot result from these efforts inside of the United States Capitol, because a mob of Trump's supporters believed it could work, and help Trump retain the presidency.

That is a desperate reach at playing what-about-ism.
Democrats have had alternative electors in place before. Please tell me more about the armed insurrection on 1-6. Please omit the people that walked around the Capital, took some pics and left. How many cops died at the hands of the protesters? Please remind me of that.

While perhaps inconvenient, they are both true.

I think the one that should fall above both of those is that he gave his blessing to his son’s boning his other son’s widow. That’s some messed up family **** right there. Shows a missing moral compass.

You left out botched global pandemic response.

That is a valid criticism of Trump. He should have never let Fauci speak, actually he should have fired him day 1. Should have never signed any of the stimulus packages and used his platform to pressure states and foreign governments to keep things open.

So yes, Trump did screw up the pandemic response.

He also shouldn't have gutted the pandemic response team Obama set up to be more prepared for such things. But he is a moron and did not believe a pandemic was a threat to the US. And it cost him a re-election.

1) There can be alternate electors in place, if there are still pending recounts ... but on January 6, 2021 - there were not.

2) A key fundamental difference with Trump's alternate electors in 2020, was that some of them were foolish enough to sign election certificates which identified themselves as already being the duly chosen electors from their states. Those certificates falsely claimed that Trump had already been declared the winner of those states. Michigan and Georgia were two of the states where this was done. That's election fraud. Plain and simple.

3) Video from inside the Capitol of Trump's supporters vandalizing property and assaulting police officers is very easy to find through a search engine. Those videos have been posted on here many times. Including the video of the guy outside the Capitol who beat a police officer over the head with a flag pole ... and was recently sentenced to 4 years in prison for it.

You can prove that Biden has been diagnosed with dementia? Then do it.

This is video discussing the guy from Arkansas who beat a police officer over the head with a flag pole outside the Capitol on January 6th, during your "completely peaceful protest, which amounted to nothing more than a typical day of tourism." He was sentenced to 4 years in prison.

... and yes, Republicans have referred to it that way.

Back the blue....unless they are trying to prevent us from overturning a legitimate election and destroying democracy.

Dude that BS has been debunked numerous times. He didn’t disband anything he just folded into another agency and had zero affect on our response. Come on, do better.

Evidence abounds. Stick your head in the sand if you like, but you know deep down it’s true. You’ve seen…but don’t want to believe.
That is nothing more than a reflection of your own political bias ... and of your emotions.
