'20 MS ATH Jimmy Holiday (UT SIGNEE)

I think they legitimately like him as a Dual threat QB, but he has the athletic ability to start elsewhere if he doesn't win the starting job in year 2.

Agree. You have to give him a shot at QB and try and develop him there. If you have someone under center with that kind of athleticism he becomes a complete nightmare for defenses. He throws the ball considerably better than I imagined. There are some definite tools to work with here. He's far more impressive at QB than I imagined. Way under-ranked IMO.

Update: The vols continues to reach out to Holliday, and from what I’m hearing, they’re trying to get him to use as a slot receiver. The coaching staff thinks his speed at that position will offset defenses, and his speed can stretch the field. He loves the vols, and is 100% interested to come to Rocky top.

Arm strength can be developed pretty quickly. What's more important is if his mechanics are solid. They look to be.

The better the mechanics are the easier it becomes to push the ball further.
Micheal Vick wasn't Tim Tebow strength wise but he could throw the ball much further, because of his mechanics and "torque". He would just flick his wrist and the ball would fly 55 yards flat footed.

Holiday can red-shirt and be a full-time QB and just learn the offense building his body up in the process. Meanwhile he still runs a 4.38. Work on his mental arsenal to catch up with his physical.
He throws short arm. If he becomes a great UT QB I will be as pleased as surprised.

We know he doesn't pass your eye test. Not surprised.
he doesn’t have a strong arms. That shouldn’t pass anyone’s eye test. On the other hand he is a very natural runner

I guess you know better than the full staff who went to see him and is wanting him at qb.
I guess you mean except for the fact that they seem to be recruiting him primarily for the slot? Jennings has a better arm. He was promised a shot at QB. It took everyone about a week to realize that wasn’t his future. I suspect this kid would be the same or simply start in the slot. But I would like to see him run the ball 20 times per game as a RB.

You know better than Pruitt and Chaney once again. We should hire you as a consultant for the team. They need you apparently.
How ironic and untruthful. You are the one who said they didn’t know what they were doing when they benched your idol.

The whole visit was selling him on qb and they spent hours putting together a qb playbook for him. Yea they just want him in the slot.

Lmao. You are so transparent.

Also show me where I said that. I said they would make the best decision for the team.

Do you KNOW they want him “at QB” or are you just rolling with VQ on this one?

He has said in interviews that he is being recruited as QB. Who knows how much of a chance our coaches are going to give him or how set on playing QB he is.

I haven't sat in on any coach meetings so I'm going with the facts we have. He had an in home and they offered him at qb, even had examples of how to use him. Unless the recruit is just making things up, which I doubt.

In all honesty his best position would be in the slot offensively unless he's the second coming of Kyler Murray. Riddle me this.. does this 100% interest stem from a willingness to play in the slot? He seemed to be intent on the QB position with rumors floating on the Ole Miss board that he shut down his recruitment after the TCU staff went in home over the weekend (sunday).

Any help from the Memphis Trio with this one?

FACTS are that the COACHES can’t comment on unsigned recruits. So these REPORTS are from VQ, 247 and their respective azzes. Your “all want him at QB is someone else’s interpretation...most likely yours with your typical “all the experts” philosophy. I remember Torrance Gibson updating everybody that he was the top priority for us at QB. This was before he had to hitchhike his way back to Florida. 😏 I see this the same as I did Jauan Jennings. Talk him up and leave a possibility open...knowing he’ll end up at receiver.

We know what he’s talked himself into believing. We also have recall of Jauan Jennings. I’m not going to stand on a wall over this, but I see him as a future weapon at receiver if we land him.

So they’re selling this kid with a promise to be a full time QB with Bailey committed? You’ve been saying HB was the future until now. I think one of us is “transparent “. But it isn’t me in the sense you imply.

Lmao. You are so transparent.
Oh? Do tell

I am actually transparent. I pull for Orange. You’re the one who seems to care about other colors

You are a fundamentally dishonest person. This rank hypocrisy is just one more proof.

I think everyone including the coaches agree. It's just are other coaches even going to give him a chance to prove them wrong? It's kind of like Randall Cobb not playing wide receiver for us because UK told him he was a QB.
