'25 MS QB Deuce Knight (Auburn commit)

If Cutter Boley is truly gone to Caintuck (maybe reclassifying to 24), and MacIntyre swinging to Clemson, this looks like a very good possibility. Pending how Madden's next two seasons go.

Where did you see that about MacIntyre? Pretty sure we're in great shape there.

I do wonder if we really push to take 2 in 25 with the idea that Nico will be gone to the NFL in '26...

It was a week or so back in his thread. Only way we take two in 25 is if Madden signs or PWO’s as the lesser regarded…and if the other QB is fully on board with that. You try to get two 4 stars and you generally get neither imo.

Is Boley still reclassifying? Conceded him to Kentucky after feeling he was in line of succession following Merklinger previously. We may be down to Knight or Madden when all the dominos fall imo.

I think Boley may still be waiting to hear if Kentucky is going to repeal their NIL restriction for high schoolers.

Wasn’t aware of the restriction. Weird being Kentucky. But the basketball program does get more from outside the state.
KY high school athletes cannot profit from NIL. There had been talk about removing that restriction, and Boley took advantage of the state bill that allowed students to repeat a grade for athletic purposes due to Covid-19. So he was always a 2024 grad, but chose to hang back a year and reclassified to 2025. It has been theorized that if the state of Kentucky doesn't repeal the NIL restriction for high schoolers, that he may graduate early and begin collecting on NIL as a college freshman, presumably taking a redshirt.

There's no way we get both high profile QBs lol
Can see why you would say that.
But...
Because of transfer portal, guys can just leave if they weren't bette rafter all, or felt they didn't get a fair shake.
25 QB would be the first we actually get to RS a freshman probably.

Why GO IN to a scenario where you’re (at best) the OTHER option? Too many programs where you’d be the guy in the class.

We also weren’t going to get a highly rated guy this year because of Nico……….
That would’ve been tested more if Merklinger was a 5 star, but to your point I remember arguing against that with AllVol. 😏

🤔 Seems like as easy as it is to transfer now, it would be more common to go to where you know you will be developed and then can leave if you end up #2.
Kids are about their brand and their development. If they’re not the SOLE priority in a class…why sign up in the first place? Hard to recruit with that pitch imo. We saw Bama bring in Lonergan and Holstein in this past class…so it happens. Recruits may forget their previous foray with Taulia Tagovailoa and Paul Tyson, but it doesn’t have a history of success if they do
