'25 MS QB Deuce Knight (Auburn commit)

Why GO IN to a scenario where you’re (at best) the OTHER option? Too many programs where you’d be the guy in the class.

If that's the reasoning, then why would even one QB come here?

I think if kids believe in Heupel and love Tennessee then they will at least compete for 1 year.

That's a pretty weak argument. Perhaps each of the big-name QB's think they ARE the #1 option, and they're going to prove it by beating the other kid out. Do you really think there are a lot of high 4-star or 5-star QB's out there that don't think they're the best QB in the nation?

If you’re recruiting two similarly rated quarterbacks, neither is CLEARLY ahead of the other at face value. You can use the competitive angle for the signalcallers in the preceding or following class, but someone isn’t telling you the truth if it’s YOUR class. Don’t care that you think it’s “weak”…it’s thought out.

So, you think that high school QB's think that the recruiting rankings are gospel? LOL. I guess we're lucky that any of these guys even bother going to the Elite 11 or other camps to compete since 247 Sports and Rivals have already told them who the best QB is.

That puts them on the same level playing field. Why would they assume the coaches who are recruiting both are telling either that there’s something a little more extra?

Are you seriously laughing out loud? 🤨 Are you out in public or cackling away in your spank dungeon?

I guess I miss the point of those camps? My take was they increase one’s stock to be THE GUY in a program’s class. Are you saying it’s like The Bachelor and one winner gets married?

Good Lord, you're just a rambling fool. It is possible for 2 highly rated QB's to both commit to a school, particularly with an offense as potent (and, therefore, attractive to recruits) as ours.

"Why would they assume the coaches who are recruiting both are telling either that there’s something a little more extra?"

I don't even know what the hell you're talking about. It's not difficult. You tell both QB's that they'll compete, and the best player will play. They are BOTH going to think that they'll beat the other guy out. This is actually FAR easier to sell now than in the past. Whichever QB doesn't when the battle can always transfer if they choose to do so.

No. I'm saying that QB's go to these elite camps to learn, work on their craft, and PROVE that they're the best. You're the one sitting here saying that the ratings services determine who is better (Your previous post - "If you’re recruiting two similarly rated quarterbacks, neither is CLEARLY ahead of the other at face value.")

To be in the line of succession. Doubt many believe they’ll immediately beat out a quality signalcaller with more time in development. There’s not always a Nico ahead of you. By “not always” I mean rarely. A Merklinger can see themselves beating out a Tayven Jackson realistically in a season or two. With Nico, he develops and prepares to take over after Nico declares after a year. If you’re beside Jadyn Davis, every snap you’re not on the field in garbage time is a tea leaf screaming at you to take the exit option. Just don’t see Heupel utilizing the scaredy cat philosophy.

You’re determined to be confused. You disagree with my take and your personal dislike of me conflates that into a breakdown of English language.

I’m the last person who would assert that SERVICES determine who is better. I’d say search my history but then I’d have to sift through even more paragraphs where you don’t know what I’m talking about. 😴

Get with sjt on multi-quoting…your game is lacking.

Sure...except that you just did.

The reading comprehension problem is yours. I said 2 QB's would compete. You seem to assume that because both QB's are highly ranked by the recruiting services that neither QB will think that they are ACTUALLY better than the other QB.

That’s not what I “asserted”. Don’t need to READ what I think and clearly stated.

I understand what you’re saying. Just thought it would be more likely to happen now (even if very rare) than in Peyton’s day because transfers are without punishment and easy. Remember how unbelievable it was two get both of those that year. But my main point was…drives me crazy when someone ridicules someone else as if they’re stupid for saying something could happen as if it’s impossible…when it’s already been possible.

Is that what I did?

He’s gonna be a Vol. I get the feeling they might have a plan to take both Mac and Deuce in ‘25.
I think, depending on how things shake out, that we are more likely to take a combination of Mac/Duece + Madden than landing both Mac and Duece. This is just me spit balling, but I see it as a near forgone conclusion that Madden will be in the ‘25 class. And depending on how Mac and Duece progress it will be a combination of one of them and Madden.

Lonergan is going to end up playing baseball. Eli has the chance to be good but is a project mechanics wise. Neither of them are true perennial QBs last class
Those are nothing more than guesses. Longeran could end up choosing baseball…who knows. He looked better in their spring game, for whatever that’s worth. Eli could end up being good, again who knows. Trying to guess on this stuff is a fools errand. Mac Jones was a low ranking 3 star who did pretty well for them. How many “recruiting experts” called their shot on that happening?

I wasn’t impressed with Holstein in his game against Jordan Matthew’s’ team last year. Good high school QB, but I didn’t see a future college star.

Everything everywhere is an educated guess based on the information available. I've seen Lonergan and been on his sideline all game. In my opinion, he's overranked and probably won't start at Bama. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong, but I trust myself enough bc I tend to be right usually. Nonetheless, Lonergan's future is baseball and that's pretty well known
