Jennings was almost the slowest WR at the combine. If you’re going to say a kid isn’t worth a spot bc of speed at least stay consistent. Jennings was a 4.7 forty guy.Was faster before he added weight.
And no I was very excited about his signing.
I personally would like to see some more possession WRs on the roster that aren’t game breakers that can help create slower drives to give the defense a breatherJennings was almost the slowest WR at the combine. Just saying a lot of people talk about this kid creating separation and being great at adjusting to the football in the air. If the staff want him I’m all for it.

I like where you’re heads at. Don’t want this kid to get any faster his senior year. I imagine if he did he magically wouldn’t be able to catch the ball and couldn’t be everyone’s favorite possession receiver. At no point do I want this guy taking the top off the defense. Must get.I personally would like to see some more possession WRs on the roster that aren’t game breakers that can help create slower drives to give the defense a breather
That’s not what I’m talking about. I’m simply stating that our entire WR room doesn’t have to have 4.4 speed and that having a guy that can methodically move the chains would help give the defense a breakI like where you’re heads at. 4-5 play TD drives where the defense is only off the field 1-2 minutes at a time isn’t helping the defense any though. Our defense played alright for the first half of a lot of games last year. They just got gassed as the games and season progressedLol.
The defense has to get the 3rd down stops it they want to earn a breather. That is true for every defense.
No one is moving to a less efficient offense for a measly extra 40 seconds of rest on 3 n out possessions (of which we should expect fewer of in a better, more optimal offense).
That’s exactly who Carnell Tate was and we all wanted him. Don’t put too much stock into what half of this forum says. That’s not what I’m talking about. Then he won’t be in this league very long. You can’t rely on 6-7 big play drives to score. If you live by the sword you die by the sword. Even Ole Miss was able to put together 10-12 play drives this year. You can’t expect a defense to play 80-90 snaps per game and expect to beat 1-2 of the 3 of Florida, Bama, and Georgia every year as well as another SEC west team. At some point the offense is going to have to evolve to where they’re not having the defense on the field for 10 minutes in a quarter. Hopefully once we get an actual OL and a truly elite QB and RB we can do that. We’re never going to be Oregon in the Chip Kelly era. The SEC is simply too talentedThat’s not how Heupels offense works. His offense is never going to be one that does slower drives.
