I was attacked by some for saying they should have cut this kid loose when he made statements weeks ago about being open to other recruiters.

“Some” that ended up not mattering. Many agreed. Personally, I didn’t feel it was necessary…more fait accompli. Lot of needless squawking when the program does the cutting.

Maybe. I really think Matthews could be a silent. I usually roll my eyes at “silent commit” but coming out of the big event, there’s gotta be one imo.

JJ Harrell's decision to de-commit earlier this week did not come as a major shock. At this point, one of the two in-state schools in Mississippi feels like the most likely destination for him. The Vols will continue to evaluate receiver options in this class as they would like to take four. Other names to note include Kam Mikell, Terrell Anderson, Bray Staley, and Dae'Vonn Hall.

Hope the kid is happy wherever he goes, we've had few decommits since CJH so maybe he's just not a fit here so good luck to him and moving along to the next WR. Not a fan of bashing kids for their decisions, made a few I regretted in my teen years.
