Mueller Report Imminent

No I want insurance. Not the knee replacement. I had completed the thought with a period, separating the two.

Stop making assumptions, and try reading what is posted. If you dont understand ask a simple question. Not difficult to do. - THEN START MAKING SENSE.

I want insurance because I know I will need it at some point. I am happy to pay my own way even if I dont use it now. It's how insurance works, you dont get it after you need it.
Your replies are convoluted and confused. What f'ing point are you trying to make? You don't want to pay for insurance because you don't want to pay for everyone else? That's how that sh!t works. You followed up your knee replacement comment with you would be happy to pay your own way. A knee replacement is north of 60k now. If you have needed it for 9 years then you are doing absolutely irreparable damage to the bone structure in your knee. Once it gets necrotic they start having to do weird things to the bone.

What do you mean pay your own way? That statement makes it sound like you want to pay outright and not via insurance.

pay insurance. I signed up before it was mandated. I have no problem with that.

I dont see the need to get the government involved in increasing the costs to make sure everyone is covered.

The way you are using needing implies I cant walk. That's not it at all. I just irreparably damaged the joint. The only thing to be done is pain meds or replacement. I said no to both. My daily pain level hovers around 7 or so.

This is a really weird tangent you have taken us down.

This portion was not clear in your previous posts. You sounded as though you wanted to "pay your own way" meaning not having to buy insurance and simply paying your medical bills. Sorry for the confusion.

Now, on to that knee. GO GET IT DONE! Once you go bone to bone you start growing osteophytes at the pressure points. My left knee had gotten so bad that the medial portion of the tibia had actually grown a shelf where the bones were touching. It was visible when I was standing straight up (or trying to anyway). The longer you go the more that the bone on bone contact will erode the bone away. When they have to start grinding away the osteophytes it gets not fun. My pain level in my left knee was a constant 7-8 with every step. The best thing I ever did was get the replacement done. It isn't the same and it will never be the same but I can walk on it and the pain is gone. If you are a young man and in reasonably good health (not a fat ass like me) a 30 year knee could make it 30 years if you don't play high impact sports on it. If your ligaments are good (and you are in good shape), Smith and Nephew now makes a knee that doesn't require the removal of the ACL. I don't know what damage you did to your knee and maybe your ligaments are hosed but they came out with that knee about 2 years after I got mine. My ligaments were beautiful according to the surgeon. If you live in the northern KY or Cincy area, I can recommend a good Dr. for you. If you are interested in talking about a replacement, let me know and we can hook up on the phone or something. They do them like knee scopes now. One every 45 minutes or so.

At my age I would need at least 3 or four knee replacements. For obvious reasons that's not recommended.

Getting back in some shape has helped the pain. A couple years ago I would have been all over a replacement. For me its sitting still that causes pain. Walking has never hurt much, running is a mixed bag but I am working my way to it being closer to walking.

My knee was to the point that running was, is, and forever shall be out of the question. Have you tried a medial unloading brace (I am assuming you have the typical "bow legged" problem). The chicken shots didn't help me at all. My issue was dead and dying bone at the bone on bone site. Sitting used to wear me out. Felt like the worst "growing pain" ever. Couldn't get comfortable especially if I couldn't straighten it out.

Edit: LV, with a top of the line replacement now, when you have to have work done, you can generally just replace the teflon like contact surface.

Never had the shots, they said it wouldn't likely do anything for me. Iirc it helps with movement, not pain.

From what I remember it was because they think I had partially torn my ACL at some point before completing it. Not sure if it was a scar tissue thing or I had been wearing it more than I should have with the partial, long before the full.

I haven't been to a doctor in a decade about it. Nothing they can do, so no point until the pain is too bad. I was told to avoid things that caused pain, and to stay active. Arthritis being something to avoid.

Unfortunately, part of the pain is osteoarthritis that you are developing. I really don't blame you for waiting as long as you can because it is not the same. I have a big numb area in the skin covering my knee from about the middle of the patella down to the top of my shin from center to outside about 2" wide. That's from the scar from the incision. Not being able to confidently kneel on the knee takes getting used to. You are right though, stay in shape and try to stay ahead of the pain. I took Advil/Tylenol in combination since there isn't any interaction between the two. You will eventually get there but as long as you can stand the pain, stick with it! If we both are still around when you decide to have it done, let me know. My son designed the actual cutting templates that the Doc used on my knee. I have printed 3D models of both the blocks and my knee.....osteophytes and all. If I can find them from my move I will take a couple of pics and post them.

My dad went thru it, and I take a lot from him. He is pain free but never got back full range of motion and struggles to pick himself up. May just be getting old but there was a noticeable difference in the before and after.

I got full range quickly but maintaining thigh strength is difficult.

It’s time to move on from Mueller’s report. He got nothing.

Now is the time to dig in and find out what started this fairy tale and who knew what when. This will be much more interesting than the actual Mueller probe.
And a heck of a lot more criminal wrongdoing will turn up than in the Mueller probe.

Why are you and 82 VOl still arguing over insurance and knee surgeries in The Meuller Report thread. PM each other or swap emails.
